Spirit of Math is seeking a hands-on
IT Manager to lead and support the technology that powers our campuses, employees, and growing educational platforms.
This role combines strategic leadership with practical execution. You will oversee Microsoft 365, infrastructure, cybersecurity, enterprise systems, technology projects, and vendor relationships while helping drive innovation and operational excellence across the organization.

Role OverviewThe IT Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management and long-term evolution of technology across Spirit of Math's corporate and campus environments. Reporting as a key technology leader within the organization, this role oversees infrastructure, Microsoft 365 administration, cybersecurity, enterprise systems, vendor relationships, and technology projects.

Key Responsibilities- Lead and optimize Spirit of Math's technology ecosystem, including Microsoft 365 (Teams, SharePoint, Exchange, OneDrive, Intune), enterprise applications, cloud infrastructure, networking, endpoint management, and core business systems;
- Manage user access, identity management, device administration, security policies, and governance to ensure a secure and efficient technology environment;
- Oversee day-to-day IT operations across corporate and campus locations, acting as the escalation point for complex technical issues and ensuring high-quality support through internal resources and external Managed Service Providers (MSPs);
- Strengthen cybersecurity, risk management, data protection, privacy, business continuity, backup, and disaster recovery capabilities across the organization;
- Support and enhance mission-critical platforms, including the Student Information System (SIS), by collaborating with internal developers and external vendors to improve integrations, functionality, reliability, and user experience;
- Identify opportunities to modernize systems, automate processes, improve collaboration, and increase operational efficiency through technology solutions;
- Lead technology projects from planning through implementation, managing project scope, budgets, timelines, vendors, and stakeholder expectations;
- Partner with leaders across the organization to understand business needs, develop technology strategies, and deliver practical solutions that support organizational growth and objectives;
- Maintain technology standards, documentation, policies, and procedures while ensuring technology investments deliver measurable value to the organization.
Qualifications- Minimum of five (5) years of progressive Information Technology experience, including leadership responsibilities;
- Strong experience administering and supporting Microsoft 365 environments;
- Experience with cloud infrastructure, endpoint management, identity and access management, and cybersecurity practices;
- Experience managing Managed Service Providers (MSPs) and third-party technology vendors;
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders;
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and technology initiatives simultaneously;
- A proactive, ownership-driven approach with a strong commitment to continuous improvement.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience working within educational organizations or multi-site environments;
- Experience supporting Student Information Systems (SIS) or custom business applications;
- Knowledge of Intune, SharePoint architecture, Power Automate, Microsoft security and compliance solutions, and related technologies;
- Experience developing IT policies, governance practices, and technical documentation.
Work Schedule and LocationThis is a full-time position based at Spirit of Math Headquarters located at 49 Gervais Drive, Toronto, Ontario. The successful candidate should expect to travel periodically between the Head Office and campus locations to provide on-site support, lead initiatives, collaborate with stakeholders, and support operational and technology needs.
