Summary:
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced IT Manager to join our team at the Hyatt Regency Baltimore. This role is ideal for a results-driven, employee focused professional who thrives on building relationships and exceeding expectations. You'll play a vital role in creating exceptional experiences for our internal and external guests while driving success in the Information Technology area of the hotels.
What You'll Do:
The Information Technology Manager functions as Business Manager for the technology department to the Hyatt Regency Baltimore, and to ensure all areas of the hotel are supported with proper computer systems in accordance with the brand standards of the hotel and company.
Overall responsibilities include technical work, customer service, financial management, administrative, operational and other responsibilities as assigned or required. The IT Manager is responsible for maintaining current systems, upgrading future systems, maintaining inventories, conducting on-site training to promote efficient operations and answer questions to avoid or resolve systems-related problems, establish policies and procedures, purchase operating equipment and maintain relationships with corporate office and Hyatt technology support team.
Work also involves conferring with programmers, application experts and computer operators in order to exchange information and resolve problems regarding daily operation of various applications systems, report generation, system enhancements, system failures and related issues.
Successful candidates will have strong leadership, professionalism, interpersonal and communication skills and a minimum of two years with WAN/LAN infrastructure and property management systems.
You will be responsible forthe efficient running ofthe department in line with Hyatt International's Corporate Strategies andbrand standards, whilst meetingemployee, guest and owner expectations. The Information Systems Manager is responsible to ensure that all computer systems and networks used within the hotel provide as near as possible uninterrupted service to the hotel operations.
Additional operational responsibilities:
• Provide technical assistance and advice to hotel management.
• To ensure that the most is obtained from the hotel's investment in hardware and software.
• Provide effective training and support.
• To effectively manage all communication networks that is used internally within the hotel and all gateways to external networks.
• Assist in the provision of IS related services to hotel guests.
The Information Technology Manager is responsible for the ongoing support and maintenance of the Local Area Networks within the building. This person is responsible for budgeting all computer related items for the hotel, all computer hardware, software and infrastructure. Responsibilities will include i nstallation and support of server-based software, developing server/product migration plans, maintaining vendor relationships, and troubleshooting problems.
Other Responsibilities:
• Lead and operate the IT discipline for the hotel and manage IT resources.
• Provide day-to-day support to colleagues.
• Manage property internet, telephone, cellular PPT, IPTV, PMS, POS and other software vendors and product development for the hotel.
• Perform required IT maintenance and upgrades with minimal disruption to hotel operations, as well as maintaining proper backups for supported systems.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software problems and ensure timely resolution.
• Responsible for overseeing and handling network configuration, servers, workstations, networking equipment, PABX, email accounts, and also support for the underlying server/desktop infrastructure.
• Maintain a system error/progress log book and deal with reported problems.
• Ensure that policies and procedures relating to PCI compliance are updated.
• Prepare and implement preventive maintenance schedule for all IT hardware and software.
• Prepare policy and procedures for the IT department and for the user department.
• Manage disaster recovery process and ensure regular daily backup is taken.
• Maintain annual IT audit compliance.
Qualifications:
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology or related field.
• Proven experience as an IT leader or similar role in a hotel or hospitality setting.
• Knowledge of network infrastructure, including CAT5/6 cabling, wireless networks, network switches, WAN/LAN, domain controller, Active Directory, firewall and VPN applications
• Knowledge of server hardware, disk storage technology, I/O devices
• Experience with property management systems (PMS), point of sale systems (POS), IPTV systems and other hospitality software applications.
• Familiarity with hotel-specific technology systems, such as guest room entertainment, digital signage, and audio-visual.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving and customer service skills.
• Networking experience would be an advantage.
• Minimum 2 years work experience as Information Systems Manager or Assistant Information Systems Manager in large operation with advanced technology.
• Good problem solving, administrative and interpersonal skills are a must.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays when necessary
