This is a full-time position requiring the ability to work independently for approximately 40 hours per week. A professional, distraction-free home office during the workday is required. Core hours are between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM, while allowing for some flexibility as determined by school needs. Residency Requirement: Resident of Pennsylvania; residents of other states will be considered on a case by case basis.
The
IT Manager is responsible for planning, implementing, securing, and maintaining all technology systems that support online education. This includes managing networks, devices, cybersecurity, cloud services, state testing, learning platforms, and the IT support team while ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations related to student data privacy.

- Manages the school's overall IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, cloud environments, and internet connectivity.
- Oversees cybersecurity initiatives, including firewalls, endpoint protection, multifactor authentication, and security awareness training.
- Ensures compliance with FERPA, COPPA, CIPA, and other applicable education technology regulations.
- Supervises IT staff, help desk technicians, and outside technology vendors.
- Develops and maintains disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
- Manages the deployment, maintenance, and inventory of student and staff laptops, tablets, and other technology equipment.
- Monitors system performance and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues.
- Manages technology infrastructure software licensing and technology budgets.
- Evaluates and implements new infrastructure technologies to improve organization operations.
- Coordinates technology projects, upgrades, and system migrations.
- Supports development of IT policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Provides technical support and training for faculty and staff.
- Manages student hardware tracking.
- Performs additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities This position has regular supervisory responsibilities. The IT Manager will supervise the IT Technicians. This position carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Minimum Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (master's degree preferred for some schools)
- 5 7 years of progressive IT experience, including supervisory experience.
- All PDE required clearances for school-based personnel
Minimum Required Skill Set - Great organizational and time management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience managing Microsoft 365, Azure, Google Workspace, or similar cloud environments.
- Strong knowledge of networking, cybersecurity, Windows and macOS administration, and device management.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
- Demonstrated competencies with general technology, Microsoft Office Platforms (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Teams, etc.), Google Platforms, Zoom, etc.
Preferred Qualifications - Experience with PowerSchool SIS
- Experience with Absolute and AristotleK12 (content filtering) platforms
- Experience with educational technology platforms
- Master's degree
- Experience managing databases
- Experience with scripting languages such as BASH, Python, Javascript or others
Certificates and Licenses The ideal candidate would have at least one or two of the following preferred certifications:
- CompTIA Network+
- CompTIA Security+
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator
- Cisco CCNA
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) (preferred for larger organizations)
- ITIL Foundation

- This is a hybrid position. When office days are required, the noise level in the office is usually moderate (computers, printers, light foot traffic).
- This position will include limited travel and will include limited overnight travel. This is estimated to be less than 15% of the time. Travel will be required for meetings, community events, professional development and/or state testing.
