STATEMENT OF THE JOB
  • The IT Manager provides strategic leadership and oversight for all of the organization's technology systems, ensuring that infrastructure, security, and support services align with organizational goals. This position supervises the Technology Support Specialist, manages the relationship with the organization's third-party IT service provider (MSP), and is responsible for technology budgeting, planning, cybersecurity, and policy development. The IT Manager serves as the senior point of accountability for the organization's technology strategy and its day-to-day execution.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and execute the organization's IT strategy and technology roadmap in alignment with organizational goals.
  • Supervise, mentor, and evaluate the Technology Support Specialist and any additional IT staff.
  • Manage the relationship with the organization's third-party managed service provider (MSP), including contract oversight, performance review, and escalation of complex issues.
  • Oversee organization-wide network infrastructure, systems architecture, and data protection standards.
  • Develop and manage the annual IT budget, including hardware/software lifecycle planning and capital technology purchases.
  • Lead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of new technology systems, platforms, and tools.
  • Establish and enforce IT policies, procedures, and service standards, including cybersecurity and data privacy practices.
  • Oversee disaster recovery and business continuity planning for technology systems.
  • Partner with department and program leaders to assess technology needs and translate them into scalable solutions.
  • Manage vendor relationships for software licensing, hardware, and telecommunications.
  • Provide escalated troubleshooting and technical guidance beyond first-line support.
  • Monitor emerging technology trends and recommend upgrades, replacements, or new investments.


Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT management, network administration, or a related technical leadership role.
  • Experience managing a managed service provider (MSP) or other outsourced IT vendor relationships.
  • Experience supervising and developing staff.
  • Knowledge of network design, cybersecurity practices, and cloud-based systems.
  • Experience developing and managing a budget.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical staff and leadership.
  • Commitment to teamwork, collaboration, and responsive service delivery.

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES
  • Proficiency with Microsoft and/or Google workplace environments and cloud platforms.
