Job description
The incumbent will be responsible for planning and implementing all aspects of local IT infrastructure required to support local projects or executing infrastructure tasks as a team member of global projects. Project activities will include initiatives to deliver new or harden existing IT infrastructure to meet all security & compliance requirements of NIST SP 800-171, CMMC Level 2 or Safran security standards (MSRs). The incumbent will be required to have broad experience working with a variety of technologies ranging from building/modifying servers, building/modifying networks, installing applications/software or provisioning servers in the cloud to meet the business needs or project specific deliverables. The incumbent will act as the IT Infrastructure technical resource for IT related topics as assigned by IS Management and will be required to provide effective guidance to support teams on the various IT technologies. The incumbent will be required to learn and follow group standards, IT Change processes and vulnerability processes.
Lead or execute IT Infrastructure Projects:
• Responsible for planning and implementing infrastructure needed to deploy new LAN, server & industrial technologies.
• Responsible for ensuring all implemented infrastructure meets requirements specified by IS security, group minimum security rules MSR) or applicable NIST standards.
• Responsible for preparing all required technical documentation, network diagrams, information flow diagrams, security sheets, change controls, DRP Documents, trainings or hand-over documentation to support the project transition into production.
• Responsible for preparing presentations to present project proposals & feasibilities and to present IS project status to the PMO and IS Management.
Build Server/Desktop and Network Infrastructure:
- Act as L3 referent for specific technologies and provide effective guidance to the various support teams.
- Diagnosing, troubleshooting, root cause analysis and providing resolution to complex problems of physical servers, networks, wireless or security systems.
- Work with IS lead to resolve failure of physical servers, network devices and appliances, and recommending improvements to avoid re-occurrence of the same problem.
- Developing Operational Documentation to ensure the "Run" of the solution including identification of L1 activities to be managed by the service desk.
Support/Administrative/Maintenance:
- Act as L3 referent for specific technologies and provide effective guidance to the various support teams.
- Diagnosing, troubleshooting, root cause analysis and providing resolution to complex problems of physical servers, networks, wireless or security systems.
- Work with IS lead to resolve failure of physical servers, network devices and appliances, and recommending improvements to avoid re-occurrence of the same problem.
- After hours support - when required to support infrastructure issues or planned changes.
Candidate skills & requirements
All skills listed below will be considered an asset, but we are looking for:
- Project Management experience.
- Experience in various IT/IS disciplines, technologies, and platforms (Infrastructure, Networking, Firewalls, communication protocols, databases and mobility).
- Working knowledge of VMWare, NetApp, Citrix, Palo Alto and various Windows Server Operating systems
- Experience with Monitoring tool solutions (Nagios, Nessus, etc)
- Innovative mindset and persistence.
- Decision making and analytical skills.
- Customer service and continuous improvement mindset.
- Technical Writing Skills. (Specifically related to IS projects)
- Able to collect and translate business requirements.
- Flexibility, ability to change focus and adopt to changing corporate priorities.

- Experience leading projects
- Ability to concurrently project manage a diverse list of items.
- Successful candidate will be responsible to meet strict deadlines as communicated by the IT Infrastructure Team Lead/Infrastructure PM.
Education & Certifications: All items listed below will be considered an asset, but the candidate must have a Recognized University degree, preferred in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering
- MCSA (Server and core infrastructure) and Cisco CCNA certification or working towards it.
- MCTS certifications or working towards it is an asset.
- Palo-Alto certification at Technician level.
- Good working knowledge of Windows 2016/2019/2022/2025.
- Good working knowledge of networking concepts including an understanding of TCPIP and the OSI networking model.
- Must be able to meet Services Canada CGR requirement to a NATO level clearance.
Specialized knowledge: Specialized knowledge in networking and computer hardware listed below would be an asset:
- Cisco Routers and Switches
- Cisco Wi-Fi Infrastructures
- Cisco video conference solutions
- Enterprise Firewall Management.
- WAN, MPLS, LAN, SDWAN
- VMware Clusters/ Dell Clusters.
- NetApp (Network Appliance)
- UNIX/Linux Operating systems
- MS PowerShell Scripting knowledge.
- Dell Physical Servers/IDRAC
Specialized knowledge with provisioning infrastructure/platforms/Solutions in the cloud (IaaS/PaaS/SaaS) on either AWS or AWS.Gov platforms.
Communication Skills - Excellent communication skills required for interactions with target audiences from end users, IS Team members, IS Management, suppliers, contractors or customers.
Salary: $90,500 to $113,000
