Full Job Description
Job Purpose

  • The Infrastructure Administrator is responsible for researching, evaluating, and advancing existing and emerging technologies to support Honda's business and manufacturing objectives.
  • This role partners across technical and business teams to identify opportunities, develop concepts, lead proof of technology and proof of concept activities, and recommend scalable infrastructure and automation solutions that improve quality, efficiency, flexibility, and organizational competitiveness.
  • While maintaining and growing the current AMP offered resources.


Key Accountabilities

  • Responsible for technology planning functions that will address development, supply chain, and manufacturing business challenges and needs. Partnering with information technology and DMS teams to understand struggles, needs, priorities, and issues, propose new ideas and innovations utilizing all aspects of information technology to create positive business impact ahead of the need.
  • Develops conceptual and working prototype solutions, leads proofs of concept, and works with architecture and product teams to deliver solutions.
  • Responsible for partnering with various information technology teams including architecture, device, network, security, applications, etc., to develop concepts, strategies (including roadmaps, reference architectures, standards, etc), and to design and implement systems that maximize the value of our IT to DMS business.
  • Assists with software and hardware selection process including buy/build analysis, vendor evaluations and integration strategies. And manage current AMP hardware/ resources.
  • Develop technical documentation and reports based on research activity and POT / POC results.
  • Collaborate with DMS business groups and technical communities.
  • Responsible for working with outside technology and automotive services suppliers to remain current on trends and current capabilities.


Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

  • Minimum education:
    • A Bachelor's level degree in Information Technology (IT), Computer Science / Data Science, Networking, Electronics / Electrical Engineering, or a related STEM field of study or equivalent relevant work experience in the industry.
  • Minimum work experience:
    • At least 5 or more years of IT infrastructure, cloud engineering, automation, or related experience.
    • Proven hands-on experience designing, implementing, and supporting infrastructure and cloud-based solutions.
    • Must have prioro experience with AWS cloud services, cloud-native architectures, and infrastructure automation.
    • Working knowledge of VMware, OpenShift, Proxmox, Kubernetes, SAN technologies, networking, and enterprise infrastructure platforms.
    • Experience integrating manufacturing, supply chain, and business systems using APIs and modern data exchange methods.
    • Familiarity with DevOps and automation tools such as Git, GitHub, AWS CDK, and VS Code.

  • Other required technical and professional Skills:
    • Ability to design, model, prototype, and evaluate infrastructure solutions while balancing performance, scalability, security, and cost.
    • Strong understanding of architecture standards, cloud technologies, and IT modernization strategies.
    • Experience conducting proof-of-technology (PoT) and proof-of-concept (PoC) activities and developing technical recommendations.
    • Ability to assess technical feasibility, support business case development, and evaluate buy-versus-build decisions.
    • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and technical communication skills.
    • Effective stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate across business, engineering, architecture, security, and vendor teams.
    • Passion for researching emerging technologies and translating innovation into business value.

  • This is an onsite job. One remote workday per week may be possible with prior departmental approval.
