Description
Clark College is currently accepting applications for a full-time, permanent classified IT Network & Telecommunications - Journey in the IT Services department. This position will support enterprise IT infrastructure, including Networking, Server administration, Telecom services & Structured Cabling while participating in planning, automation, and technology projects.

Position Responsibilities

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Administer wired, wireless, and telecommunications infrastructure supporting campus connectivity and voice services.
  • Configure and maintain switches, VLANs, network equipment, telecom hardware, and related infrastructure.
  • Install and support, network equipment, structured cabling, low-voltage connectivity, phone systems, and telecom endpoints.
  • Troubleshoot network, wireless, voice, and telecommunications service issues.
  • Coordinate vendors for infrastructure, network, telecommunications, cabling, and related service needs.
  • Administer Windows and Linux Servers.
  • Manage backup systems.
  • Document Structured Cabling, Server and Network infrastructure,
  • Administer AD, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, Identity management.
  • Develop PowerShell automation.
  • Support disaster recovery and business continuity needs.
  • Research and implement new technologies as directed by management.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with diverse individuals and groups to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent customer service that consistently meets or exceeds the needs of customers.
  • Mentor junior staff.
  • Perform related duties as required.

Qualifications

POSITION REQUIREMENTS AND COMPETENCIES:
Candidates will be evaluated based on application materials, including the supplemental questions and personal interview(s), and will be required to demonstrate competencies in the following areas:
  • Associate's degree in Information Technology, Telecommunications, Electronics, or related field AND three (3) years' experience supporting enterprise network infrastructure. Additional years of service may substitute for educational and certificate requirements.
  • Have or able to obtain within the probationary period a Washington State L&I Class 09 Limited Energy (Low Voltage) Electrician Certificate.
  • Experience in structured cabling installation, network switch configuration, wireless infrastructure support, windows and Linux server administration, telecommunications support.

SALARY/BENEFITS:
Salary Range: $7,150-$9,618 /month| Step A-M (commensurate with qualifications and experience) | Range:05IT | Code:483NT

Successful candidates typically start at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases.
