DescriptionClark College is currently accepting applications for a full-time, permanent classified IT Network & Telecommunications - Journey in the IT Services department. This position will support enterprise IT infrastructure, including Networking, Server administration, Telecom services & Structured Cabling while participating in planning, automation, and technology projects.
Position Responsibilities JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- Administer wired, wireless, and telecommunications infrastructure supporting campus connectivity and voice services.
- Configure and maintain switches, VLANs, network equipment, telecom hardware, and related infrastructure.
- Install and support, network equipment, structured cabling, low-voltage connectivity, phone systems, and telecom endpoints.
- Troubleshoot network, wireless, voice, and telecommunications service issues.
- Coordinate vendors for infrastructure, network, telecommunications, cabling, and related service needs.
- Administer Windows and Linux Servers.
- Manage backup systems.
- Document Structured Cabling, Server and Network infrastructure,
- Administer AD, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, Identity management.
- Develop PowerShell automation.
- Support disaster recovery and business continuity needs.
- Research and implement new technologies as directed by management.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to effectively communicate with diverse individuals and groups to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Excellent customer service that consistently meets or exceeds the needs of customers.
- Mentor junior staff.
- Perform related duties as required.
Qualifications POSITION REQUIREMENTS AND COMPETENCIES:Candidates will be evaluated based on application materials, including the supplemental questions and personal interview(s), and will be required to demonstrate competencies in the following areas:
- Associate's degree in Information Technology, Telecommunications, Electronics, or related field AND three (3) years' experience supporting enterprise network infrastructure. Additional years of service may substitute for educational and certificate requirements.
- Have or able to obtain within the probationary period a Washington State L&I Class 09 Limited Energy (Low Voltage) Electrician Certificate.
- Experience in structured cabling installation, network switch configuration, wireless infrastructure support, windows and Linux server administration, telecommunications support.

- The initial appointment will include a 6-month probationary period and the employee will earn permanent status after successfully completing probation.
