The
Tech Responsibility Lead is a critical role in charge of ensuring the ethical and responsible development, deployment, and use of technology within the organization. This individual will champion responsible technology practices, mitigate potential risks, and promote a culture of accountability and transparency in how the company leverages technology. They will work cross-functionally with Corporate Responsibility, Legal, IT, and other teams to embed trustworthy AI, sustainability and digital accessibility considerations into the technology lifecycle
Key Responsibilities:• In alignment with Zone CIO and Global IT & Tech Responsibility office identify and communicate IT & Tech Responsibility priorities for the Zone.
• Lead Zone specific projects; secure sponsorship from Zone IT Leadership to ensure allocation of necessary resources.
• Lead Digital Accessibility initiatives to ensure internal and external applications are compliant with global accessibility standards (WCAG) and provide a seamless experience for users of all abilities.
• Align with Global Business/Tech Platform Responsibility Leads to account for Global projects impact in the roadmap; consolidate IT & Tech Responsibility project roadmap and run the governance to oversee it.
• Ensure Tech Responsibility KPIs are defined, tracked and updated as the scope changes.
• Participate in key governance bodies to ensure that IT & Tech Responsibility are considered (e.g., IT Leadership Team, Transformation Committee, Design Authority, RFP preparations , etc.)
• Develop Responsible Tech Champion network in the Zone; ensure Responsible Tech topics are elevated through this network and planned events.
• Continuously increase awareness about IT & Tech Responsibility at Zone level, both for IT and non-IT employees .
• Support Global Responsible Tech Office in developing Responsibility guidelines by bringing operational knowledge and feedback.
• Engage and develop synergies with L4TF (L'Oreal for the Future) stakeholders.
• Coordinate internal and external communication and ensure visibility of IT & Tech Responsibility initiatives.
• Stay abreast of emerging trends, regulations, and best practices in tech ethics and governance, sustainability, and responsible innovation.
• Identify and assess potential ethical, social, and legal risks associated with the company's technology products and services. Develop and implement mitigation strategies to address identified risks.
• Collaborate with internal and external development teams, product, legal, compliance, and other functions to integrate ethical considerations into the product development lifecycle.
• Provide guidance and support to teams on ethical design and responsible AI practices.
• Facilitate cross-functional discussions and workshops on tech responsibility topics.
• Raise awareness of ethical considerations and promote a culture of responsible innovation throughout the organization.
• Engage with external stakeholders, including industry groups, academics, and policymakers, to stay informed of emerging issues and contribute to the development of responsible technology standards.
• Represent the company in relevant industry forums and discussions.
• Establish metrics and reporting mechanisms to track progress on tech responsibility initiatives; prepare regular reports for senior management on key risks, compliance activities, and progress towards strategic goals.
What We Are Looking For:Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Law, Ethics, Public Policy)
• 5+ years in Technology and 3+ years of experience in a relevant role, such as technology ethics, compliance, data privacy, or risk management
• In-depth understanding of Sustainability principles, including environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors. Familiarity with frameworks like the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and SBTI Science Based Target Initiative.
• Knowledge of Carbon Footprint Analysis to measure and analyze the carbon footprint of IT operations and identify areas for reduction
• Expertise in Energy Efficiency in IT to lead optimization of energy consumption in data centers, networks, and end-user devices. This includes knowledge of energy-efficient hardware and software, power management techniques, and virtualization.
• Experience working with suppliers and supporting RFPs; understanding of Sustainable Procurement to evaluate and select IT products and services based on their environmental impact, including factors such as energy efficiency, recyclability, and responsible sourcing
• Knowledge of e-Waste Management and Recycling
• Familiarity with integrating renewable energy sources into IT infrastructure is a plus
• Sustainability Reporting and Communication
• Strong general understanding of technology, including AI, machine learning, data analytics, and digital accessibility

Additional Benefits Information As Follows:Salary Range: $126,900 - $184,000
