IT Consultant
Remote/Hybrid (If Hybrid, Onsite Wednesdays)

Description:
Diversified Systems is searching for an IT Consultant to design, develop, deploy, and support MuleSoft integration solutions using Mule ESB and Anypoint Platform. This role will focus on delivering scalable, reusable, and maintainable integration services and APIs, supporting enterprise modernization efforts, and ensuring integrations comply with business, technical, operational, and security requirements.

Responsibilities:

Integration Design & Development
  • Design, develop, deploy, and support MuleSoft integration solutions using Mule ESB and Anypoint Platform.
  • Design and implement API-led connectivity solutions aligned with enterprise integration standards.
  • Develop APIs and integrations using REST, SOAP, XML, JSON, JMS, and event-driven integration patterns.
  • Build scalable, reusable, and maintainable integration services and APIs.
  • Implement MuleSoft best practices and deliver solutions that meet defined business and technical requirements.
  • Develop data transformations, validations, mappings, and business logic for enterprise integrations.
  • Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
  • Support modernization and migration of legacy integrations to MuleSoft-based solutions.

Architecture & Technical Leadership
  • Collaborate with architects, business analysts, infrastructure teams, database administrators, and application teams to design enterprise integration solutions.
  • Participate in architecture reviews and contribute to enterprise integration strategy and roadmap planning.
  • Define and support API versioning, governance, lifecycle management, and integration standards.
  • Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to development standards, security requirements, and architectural best practices.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to junior developers and integration team members.
  • Translate business requirements into scalable technical integration solutions.

Cloud, DevOps & Platform Support
  • Configure, deploy, and support MuleSoft applications in CloudHub and hybrid environments.
  • Build and support CI/CD pipelines for MuleSoft deployments using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Maven, or similar technologies.
  • Automate deployment, monitoring, and operational support processes where appropriate.
  • Configure and maintain MuleSoft development, testing, and deployment environments.
  • Support integration platform upgrades, patching, and operational maintenance activities.

Security, Monitoring & Production Support
  • Implement secure integration practices including OAuth 2.0, JWT, TLS/SSL, encryption, and API security policies.
  • Ensure integrations comply with enterprise security, governance, and operational standards.
  • Implement exception handling, logging, auditing, and monitoring frameworks for enterprise integrations.
  • Monitor integration performance and proactively identify reliability, scalability, and operational concerns.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and resolution of production integration issues.
  • Participate in critical incident response and production support activities as needed.
  • Optimize MuleSoft applications for performance, scalability, and reliability.

Testing, Documentation & Data Analysis
  • Develop and execute unit tests using MUnit and other testing frameworks covering both positive and negative scenarios.
  • Perform data analysis, data profiling, and source-to-target mapping activities.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, API specifications, operational runbooks, and support procedures.
  • Manage assigned projects, priorities, timelines, and deliverables effectively.


Requirements:

Education & Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field required.
  • MuleSoft Certified Developer certification required.
  • MuleSoft Architect-level certifications strongly preferred highly desired.
  • Salesforce certifications are highly desirable highly desired.

MuleSoft & Integration Experience
  • Minimum 7 years of hands-on experience with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform and enterprise integration development required.
  • Strong experience designing and developing REST and SOAP APIs and enterprise integration solutions required.
  • Experience implementing API-led connectivity and reusable integration frameworks required.
  • Strong experience building APIs and integrating with third-party enterprise applications and platforms required.
  • Experience integrating MuleSoft with Salesforce and other cloud-based systems is required required.
  • Experience modernizing or migrating legacy integrations to MuleSoft is preferred highly desired.
  • Strong understanding of ESB architecture, Mule connectors, API Manager, Exchange, and RAML design required.
  • Experience working with event-driven architecture and messaging technologies such as JMS, Kafka, or RabbitMQ is preferred highly desired.

Programming & Technical Skills
  • Strong programming experience with Java, J2EE, Spring Framework, XML, JSON, and related integration technologies required.
  • Experience with Python or other modern programming languages is a plus highly desired.
  • Strong SQL and data transformation skills required.
  • Experience integrating with Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or other enterprise databases required.
  • Experience designing scalable, high-availability, and fault-tolerant integration solutions required.

Cloud, DevOps & Tools
  • Experience deploying and supporting integrations in CloudHub and hybrid cloud environments required.
  • Experience with Azure cloud platforms preferred highly desired.
  • Experience with Git-based source control and branching strategies required.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Maven, or similar technologies required.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, ELK, AppDynamics, or similar platforms required.
  • Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, or container-based deployment models is a plus highly desired.

Security & Governance
  • Strong understanding of enterprise integration security patterns and API security best practices required.
  • Experience implementing OAuth 2.0, JWT, TLS/SSL certificates, encryption, and secure API authentication mechanisms required.
  • Familiarity with enterprise governance frameworks and IT service management practices such as ITIL is preferred highly desired.
