SUMMARY:The IT Business Systems Manager leads Crenlo's business systems, data, and analytics function. This is a player-coach role: the Manager leads a team of business systems, data engineering, and Oracle resources, stays hands-on in the technical work, and serves as the main business interface for our enterprise platforms. The role owns Oracle EBS (including OCI and the database environment), Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, our EDI platforms, and the business systems side of Crenlo's AI program, including Anthropic Claude and the MCP connectors that link Claude to our enterprise systems. Working alongside other IT Managers, this role makes sure our systems and data are ready for AI and deliver measurable results for the business.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:- Lead, coach, and develop a team of business systems, data engineering, and Oracle resources, including employees and contract staff; set priorities, assign work, and hold the team to clear standards
- Stay hands-on as a player-coach, personally building and troubleshooting technical work, including SQL, DAX, and Python, alongside the team
- Serve as the main business interface for enterprise systems, partnering with finance, operations, supply chain, and plant leadership to set priorities and deliver results
- Own the Power BI and Microsoft Fabric environment, including semantic models, dataflows, pipelines, and data engineering and reporting standards
- Manage the Oracle EBS environment and the underlying OCI and database platform, working with Oracle Engineering and external partners on performance, patching, and platform health
- Manage Crenlo's EDI platforms, including OpenText, Orderful, and customer-side EDI systems, so X12 transactions (830/850/856/810 and others) flow reliably between trading partners and Oracle EBS; lead trading partner onboarding, mapping changes, and error resolution
- Oversee the SQL Server and Linux infrastructure that supports business systems, including servers, databases, and scheduled jobs, working with IT Operations as needed
- Support Salesforce CRM and Propel PLM, including their integrations with Anthropic, Oracle EBS and other business systems
- Manage vendor and contract relationships for business systems, including OpenText, Orderful, Oracle, and Infosight; coordinate support, hold vendors to service levels, and manage renewals
- Own the business systems side of Crenlo's AI program, including Anthropic Claude and the MCP connectors that link Claude to Oracle EBS, Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, and other enterprise systems
- Build, test, and maintain MCP connectors and the data access behind them, working with the AI and Security Administrator on security, access controls, and governance
- Partner with leaderhip to identify, prioritize, and deliver AI automation of business processes, bringing business needs forward from the departments
- Manage data quality, governance, and documentation so our data is trusted and ready for AI
- Plan and manage projects for Oracle enhancements, analytics builds, data platform improvements, and AI integrations, tracking KPIs on performance, adoption, and business outcomes
- Lead training and change management for new reporting, system, and AI capabilities
KEY SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:- Proven ability to lead and develop a team while staying hands-on with technical delivery
- Strong hands-on skills in Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, SQL, and DAX, with a solid grasp of data engineering standards
- Working knowledge of Python for data engineering, automation, and AI integrations
- Working knowledge of Oracle EBS architecture, OCI/database administration, SQL Server, and Linux server administration
- Working knowledge of CRM and PLM platforms, preferably Salesforce and Propel
- Working knowledge of X12 EDI standards and platforms such as OpenText and Orderful
- Hands-on experience with generative AI tools, preferably Anthropic Claude, and an understanding of the Model Context Protocol (MCP), APIs, and connecting AI to enterprise data
- Strong business analysis skills, with the ability to translate business processes into system, data, and AI requirements
- Excellent communication skills with technical teams, business users, and executives
- Experience with data governance, security, and documentation standards

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field; or equivalent related work experience
- Experience working with ERP and business intelligence platforms, including Oracle EBS and Power BI or Microsoft Fabric
- Demonstrated experience leading people, contract resources, and cross-functional teams, and managing vendors and contracts
- Hands-on experience with AI platforms, LLM integrations, or MCP connectors; Anthropic Claude experience strongly preferred
- Experience managing EDI platforms and trading partner integrations with OEM customers and suppliers
- Hands-on Python experience for data engineering, AI integrations, and MCP connector development
- Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) or database administration a plus
- Oracle, Microsoft Fabric, or Power BI certifications preferred; manufacturing or industrial experience a plus
WORKING CONDITIONS/OTHER:- Work Hours/Status: Full Time, Salary-Exempt, 40+ hours per week, Monday - Friday
- Travel Requirements: 10-20% Domestic Travel to manufacturing locations
- Works in a normal office environment with occasional time spent on manufacturing floors
- May require occasional evening and weekend work during implementation phases
