Full Job Description
Formulates and defines system scope and objectives through research and fact-finding combined with an understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements. Develops or modifies moderately complex information systems.1. Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates business systems, data flows, and user needs to define opportunities for improvement and alignment with organizational objectives.
2. Conducts needs analysis and develops AI-assisted requirements and process definitions, ensuring requirements are clear, testable, and adaptable as business priorities evolve.
3. Partners with developers and solution teams to clarify requirements, validate assumptions, and troubleshoot issues during integration or configuration work..
4. Analyzes and documents requirements for transactional and API-based systems, ensuring inputs, outputs, and data mappings are fully understood and clearly communicated to technical and business stakeholders..
5. Researches and documents requirements, for new and existing business flows (including payment, billing, and reporting processes), recommending changes that improve accuracy, efficiency, and compliance..
6. Summarizes and communicates analysis outcomes in decision-ready insights that enable stakeholders to make informed business and technical decisions..
7. Defines requirement-driven acceptance criteria and validation conditions to support QA and stakeholder testing, ensuring coverage without directly driving test execution..
8. Acts as liaison among clients, operations, and technical teams to ensure solutions meet both functional and regulatory requirements.
9. Collaborates with clients, partners, vendors, and internal teams to support system integrations, migrations, and adoption of new solutions..
10. Leverages AI and automation tools to accelerate requirements gathering, analysis, and validation, with a focus on speed-to-insight and reducing manual effort.
This position offers a hybrid work option. Nelnet values flexibility and understands the importance of work-life integration. Our hybrid work environment allows associates Living within 30 miles of an office location to work remotely for part of the week, while also fostering collaboration and team connection through in-office presence three days per week.

EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science and/or equivalent practical experience.
  • Ongoing professional development in AI, data analysis, or system integration strongly preferred.


EXPERIENCE:

3 to 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, Product Analysis, or Systems integration Demonstrated ability to:
  • Work with transactional and API-based systems, including reading API specs and interpreting JSON/XML payloads.
  • Translate business needs into clear, testable requirements.
  • Collaborate across technical, business, and compliance teams.
  • Experience in financial services, payments, billing, or data-intensive products preferred.
  • Comfort with AI-assisted tools for requirements gathering, data validation, or analysis preferred Experience working with cross-functional teams

Compensation range for this position is $80,000-$110,000, depending on experience.
