Overview

The IT Architect is accountable for the architectural integrity and technical quality of business solutions, providing technical deliverables for business initiatives. This role defines and evolves enterprise and solution architecture by developing technology strategies and roadmaps, selecting target technologies, and establishing a long-term, holistic view of technology enablement. Leveraging technical expertise and understanding of enterprise IT capabilities, architects partner with business and engineering stakeholders to align technology solutions with business capabilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Define and govern enterprise and solution architecture, including architectural principles, standards, guardrails, and ongoing governance.
• Lead technology evaluation, selection, and evolution, and contribute significantly to enterprise technology strategy.
• Develop and maintain current state and future state architectures, capability roadmaps, and technology lifecycle plans aligned to business strategy.
• Identify major system interfaces, business capability needs, architectural gaps, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Leverage data and process analysis and modeling to inform architectural decisions and solution design.
• Produce conceptual, logical, and physical solution designs, including clear transition paths from the current state.
• Partner with business and technical stakeholders to translate business needs into architecturally sound solutions using agile practices.
• Collaborate with project managers, business representatives, IT teams, and third party vendors to ensure architectural alignment, influence execution, and validate deliverables against design specifications.

JOB REQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in team-based environments.
• Excellent verbal, written, technical, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to translate high-level business concepts into clear, actionable technology solutions.
• Strong consultative skills to gain knowledge of business unit functions, applications, and terminology; able to work effectively with clients, IT management, and technical staff.
• Technical expertise across business, data, application, and general technology domains, including Microsoft, infrastructure (servers, firewalls), security, SaaS, software engineering, and data structures.
• Demonstrated strength in both process and data analysis as well as analytical tools, with strong problem-solving capabilities.
• Disciplined in modeling, documentation maintenance, and adherence to standards, principles, methodologies, and emerging trends.
• Ability to mentor, educate, and transfer knowledge to business and technical partners on architecture and technology practices.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects, meet deadlines, and maintain high quality using sound project planning and management skills.
