The Opportunity

As an IT Analyst at Blue Cross Life, you will play a lead role in the design, evolution, and operational support of enterprise data solutions supporting Finance, Administration, Claims, and reporting platforms.

This role is responsible for bridging enterprise business requirements with technical solution architecture and data engineering delivery. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership in the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and maintainable data solutions while ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture, governance, and operational standards.

This is a senior technical role requiring demonstrated experience in enterprise data environments, solution design, systems integration, and data platform delivery.

Your day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Leading technical analysis and solution design activities for enterprise data initiatives

  • Designing and maintaining logical and physical data models to support reporting, analytics, and operational processes

  • Defining and documenting data integration patterns, transformation logic, and data flow architecture

  • Collaborating with architects, developers, data engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable and supportable solutions

  • Providing technical leadership and guidance during solution design, development, testing, deployment, and operational transition activities

  • Supporting enterprise architectural governance and ensuring compliance with data management standards and security requirements

  • Performing impact assessments related to system integrations, data migrations, and platform modernization initiatives

  • Contributing hands-on expertise to SQL analysis, query optimization, data validation, and troubleshooting activities

  • Leading technical review sessions for solution designs, data structures, and implementation approaches

  • Supporting the design and implementation of ETL/ELT pipelines and enterprise data ingestion frameworks

  • Collaborating with delivery teams to resolve technical defects, data integrity issues, and production support challenges

  • Participating in release planning, deployment coordination, and post-implementation stabilization activities

  • Supporting enterprise data governance initiatives including data quality, lineage, retention, and security controls

  • Providing mentorship and technical leadership to junior analysts and project team members

  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives related to enterprise data architecture, delivery standards, and operational processes

What you need to succeed:

  • Advanced understanding of SDLC, Agile delivery methodologies, and enterprise solution delivery practices

  • Strong hands-on experience with SQL development, data analysis, and query optimization

  • Strong understanding of enterprise data warehousing concepts including dimensional modeling, star/snowflake schemas, and data lifecycle management

  • Experience designing and supporting ETL/ELT pipelines and enterprise data integration solutions

  • Experience working with enterprise reporting, analytics, and operational data platforms

  • Demonstrated experience contributing to solution architecture and technical design decisions

  • Strong understanding of systems integration patterns, APIs, and data migration strategies

  • Ability to interpret complex business requirements and translate them into technical solution specifications

  • Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, security, and regulatory compliance principles

  • Experience working within cloud-based data environments and modern data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, AWS, Azure, or GCP

  • Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis capabilities in complex enterprise environments

  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical discussions and influence cross-functional delivery teams

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Demonstrated mentorship and technical leadership capabilities

Qualifications

Education: Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related technical discipline

Work Experience:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in enterprise data analysis, data engineering, systems integration, or solution design roles

  • 5+ years of experience working directly with enterprise data platforms, data warehousing solutions, or large-scale integration initiatives

  • Demonstrated experience supporting production enterprise data environments

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud-native data platforms and enterprise analytics ecosystems

  • Experience supporting regulated or security-sensitive enterprise environments

  • Experience with enterprise architecture practices and governance frameworks

  • Experience leading technical implementation activities across cross-functional teams

Work Status

Due to security clearance requirements, candidates must have resided in Canada for at least 5 years and hold Permanent Residency or Canadian Citizenship.

Pay Range: $88,157 - $99,178

This posting is for a newly created position within our organization.

The Base Pay range may vary depending on the successful candidate or other relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience and education/training. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Blue Cross Life employees may participate in various performance-based incentive programs. Payments under these programs are discretionary and subject to both individual and organizational results.
