Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead - Electromechanical SystemsLocation: Chaska, MN (On-site)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Compensation: $133,000 - $165,000/year + quarterly bonus
This role blends hands-on technical leadership with people management: you'll own the technical execution of high-priority programs while directly managing a team of project engineers. Expect significant interaction with senior engineers, systems engineers, test engineers, program managers, and customers. The role is roughly 75% direct technical/project leadership and 25% functional team management.
What You'll DoTechnical & Project Leadership- Lead technical teams from project kickoff through completion on electromechanical systems for commercial and military platforms
- Manage team performance against project schedule and cost, in partnership with the program manager
- Plan, organize, and control work across one or more concurrent projects
- Define system-level and lower-level engineering requirements
- Build engineering development plans, WBS, and resource plans to execute projects
- Manage engineering budget within 10% of approved targets
- Interface directly with commercial and military customers on technical program definition and execution
- Review technical reports and deliverables for internal and external stakeholders
- Support new business pursuits, including technical scope, schedule, and cost input
Team & Functional Leadership- Manage recruitment, selection, training, performance assessment, and work assignments for a team of project engineers
- Ensure compliance tasks and internal processes are followed and taught across the team
- Develop and maintain cross-project communication tools, templates, and training
- Build and maintain monthly resource demand plans
- Own talent and capability roadmap development for the team
- Lead internal staff meetings and communication up/down the organization
What You Bring - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering
- 6+ years of experience as a technical lead
- New product development experience in the aerospace/defense industry
- Proven experience leading a project from start to finish
- Experience building WBS, project plans, and technical requirements
- Proficiency with Microsoft Project
- Proficiency in Earned Value Management (EVM) and Control Account Management
- Strong documentation, writing, and presentation skills
- Comfortable working closely with engineers and technicians in a lab/manufacturing setting
- Must be a U.S. Citizen, with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
Work Environment - Combination of business office and manufacturing/lab environments (machine shop, assembly, test)
- Appropriate eye, hearing, and foot protection used as required in production areas
- Some periods of overtime/deadline-driven work expected
