The Opportunity

The IPAC Specialist will support our Environmental and IPAC Teams in the implementation and management of environmental infection prevention and control strategies. The IPAC Specialist will have knowledge, education and experience in infection prevention and control practices and will build and maintain competency and capacity of LTC home teams while supporting a culture of compliance and adherence to IPAC standards, best practices, legislative requirements and AgeCare Policies and Procedures.

This role is responsible for supporting operations across Central West and Southwest Ontario.


What You Will Do

  • Support home implementation of audit program – including interrater reliability, training of auditors and data analysis.

  • Participation/ facilitation of Environmental Team and IPAC Lead communities of practice and support standardization of IPAC practices across the homes.

  • Support Homes with outbreak management.

  • Educate staff on the principles and practices of IPAC and act as a resource regarding infection prevention and control, with focus on cleaning and disinfection

  • Support homes during the planning and implementation of Construction and Renovation projects to mitigate infection risks during projects.

What You Bring

  • Current Certification from the CBIC for Infection Prevention and Control 6 CIC or LTC-CIP

  • Minimum Three years9 recent relevant in IPAC related experience in progressive management positions in seniors housing, long-term care, hospital, medical, or relevant service sector and/or clinical experience in an acute or community setting

  • Previous experience providing education and training as an asset.

  • Knowledge, education and experience of IPAC practices with a focus on cleaning and disinfection, and CMRD.

Salary Range: $80,000 - $87,500
