Full Job Description
GENERAL SUMMARY/BASIC PURPOSE OF JOB:
Performs day-to-day administrative tasks for department and for supervision of staff. Maintains
responsibility for staff education, orientation, competency planning, supply maintenance, writing
performance appraisals, and establishment of daily staffing levels. Performs operating and capital
budget planning and administration and assists in stewardship of department and organization
resources. Continuously looks for ways to improve the department's clinical quality, operational
efficiency, and communication that fulfill the mission of Sinai Health System.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports To: Director of Rehabilitation Services
Provides Supervision To: Lead Therapy Staff, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Language Pathologists, Recreational Therapists, Therapist Assistants, Support staff
JOB REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM EDUCATION:
Professional degree in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology, or
Audiology from an accredited program. PTA and COTA candidates will be considered if possessing
advanced degree (MHA/MBA, etc.)
MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:
3 years as a staff therapist: PT, OT, SLP, Audiologist, PTA, or COTA (see above).
2 years in a Lead or Supervisor position.
1 year in leadership position in IRF setting; good knowledge of IRF regulations.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Goal oriented with desire to grow professionally.
Demonstrated human resource/talent management abilities.
Fiscal management of skills as demonstrated by management of Operating and Capital Budgets and
cost containment activities.
Intermediate skill level in basic Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook).
REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS:
Current valid licensure as a Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Speech-Language Pathologist,
Audiologist, Physical Therapist Assistant, Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant by the state of
Illinois. If not currently licensed in Illinois, must be eligible for IL license if currently licensed in
another state. Must have no history of disciplinary action against license.
