DNV Business Assurance is seeking an Invoicing Team Manager for our team supporting U.S. and Canada.

The role of the Invoicing Team Manager in Business Assurance is part of a dynamic and dedicated team which is responsible for performing financial and administrative activities towards our clients and team members. The role gives the opportunity to become a valued contributor to the functioning of the team, ensuring high performance and motivation level of the team members.

This position will be located in Houston, TX.

The person in the role is expected to have people management experience, a system and process knowledge, handle cash flow reports and initiate/support process standardization and improvement initiatives. The role involves managing a sizeable team spanning several countries in some cases, talent management, recruitment and effective stakeholder management. A person in this role would work closely with the Business Controller, Sales, Planning and other teams to ensure the required performance level for the invoicing department. The below responsibilities for the role are indicative and may evolve in time. The topics and scope will be discussed on an ongoing basis.

What You'll Do:
  • People management activities focusing on full employee life cycle
  • Understand the invoicing process, providing quality assurance and customer service
  • Understand and ensure quality and efficiency in subcontractor handling process
  • Work with the respective Business Controller collaboratively to support Cash flow forecasting and achieve Cash Flow objectives
  • Support the Business Controller(s) with monthly closing related activities including but not limited to revenue validation and missing revenue/cost accruals
  • Support in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, annual and ad-hoc forecasting cash flow at an individual and unit level
  • Plan the availability and capacity of the team & set KPIs
  • Workload distribution, allocation of tasks
  • Handle escalations
  • Actively define areas of improvement, making space for the team to innovate
  • Support and implement process standardization initiatives
  • Provide input when needed to ensure process documentation is created/maintained for training/onboarding purposes
  • Identify and manage training needs, including onboarding of new starters
  • Manage change initiatives with a can-do, solution-oriented mindset

Qualifications

What Is Required:

  • Bachelor Degree in relevant field and 2 years of experience in finance operations (billing, collections, accounts receivable, accounts payable, etc.)

  • In lieu of Bachelor Degree, 4 years of experience in finance operations (billing, collections, accounts receivable, accounts payable, etc.)
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in leading a team
  • Professional experience in financial environment and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems
  • Experience with individual performance management
  • Excellent communication skills and cultural awareness of working cross border and in a matrix organization is an asset
  • Advanced English skills - both written and verbal
  • Strong customer service orientation with experience supporting stakeholders in an international environment
  • Proven ability to identify, develop, and retain talent
  • Experience managing the recruitment process with a focus on long-term retention
  • High level of empathy and interpersonal awareness, with the ability to build trusted relationships
  • Ability to motivate teams and foster a positive, high-performing work environment
  • Ability to engage and manage stakeholders at various levels of the organization
