Full Job Description
Investor Relations (IR) is responsible for developing and managing Citi's relationships with institutional investors and research analysts who cover Citigroup, with respect to both Equity and Fixed Income markets. IR works to ensure that the financial markets have a deep and thorough understanding of Citi's strategy, financial performance and growth prospects, and in turn, that Senior Management understands the market's perspective on Citi. IR is also principally responsible, in conjunction with Finance and Legal, for ensuring that Citi's external disclosures and financial communications are appropriate and help the Street develop an understanding of Citi.

Investor Relations is responsible for all quarterly earnings documents (analyst presentation, press release, CFO script) as well as all Senior Management with investors, including conferences, non-deal roadshows and other meetings. IR is also integrally involved in the preparation of 10-K, 10-Q and other public filings to ensure the effectiveness and consistency of disclosures. Senior members of IR communicate with sell-side analysts and investors on a daily basis to provide transparency into the Company and the market environment. This interaction provides IR with insight into the Street's views of Citi, its competitors and the industry. This allows IR to advise Senior Management about market expectations for Citi, which is critical in developing strategic messages and new disclosures to respond with the ever-evolving market environment.

Investor Relations Director will report to the Head of Equity Investor Relations and has regular interaction with the Head of Investor Relations, Citi's CFO, Business and Function Heads, and other members of Citi's Finance organization. The position involves handling complex and confidential information requiring the highest level of discretion and independent judgment.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in driving the overall team's strategy and agenda, focusing on enhancing communication, operating efficiency, governance, process efficiency and effectiveness of the IR function
  • Responsible for coordinating and monitoring the overall key deliverables for the group, including those for internal & external presentations and leading key initiatives when required
  • Support senior members of the team in creating materials related to Citi's financial results and strategic objectives including those related to quarterly earnings, conferences and Investor Day presentations
  • Draft scripts and talking points for senior management's internal and external communication
  • Develop and maintain positive and effective relationship with investors, internal and external partners, and stakeholders
  • Communicate effectively with the investment community (sell-side analysts and buy-side investors) including by leading calls and in-person meetings
  • Stay abreast of and analyze qualitative and quantitative changes to equity research estimates and models
  • Work with relevant partners and stakeholders to develop and maintain a thorough understanding of Citi's businesses, financials, and strategy, as well as relevant industry topics and peer comparisons
  • Manage ad hoc and special projects
  • Responsible for reviewing all SVP / VP / AVP / Analyst work product
  • Support preparation of quarterly and annual SEC filings as well as other financial disclosures
  • Creation, direction, and management of financial analytics including shareholder and valuation analyses, earnings reactions and industry dynamics and report to senior management as needed
  • Assist in the development for external dissemination a clear, cohesive message regarding Citi's strategy, initiatives, and results
  • Provide Senior Management with insights on investor thinking
  • Arrange and prepare senior management for participation in investor meetings and conferences


Qualifications
  • 12+ years of financial services experience in either Investor Relations, investment banking, or corporate strategy
  • Degree in Finance, MBA preferred
  • Strong understanding of banking and financial services industry, including P&L, balance sheet, capital and drivers of profitability and valuation as well as peer comparisons and industry trends
  • Knowledge of bank regulatory environment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with experience writing scripts and talking points
  • Strategic and project management capabilities coupled with strong analytic and financial acumen
  • Strong interpersonal and influence management skills
  • Ability to build and manage relationships with external investors and analysts as well as within Citi
  • Demonstrated process improvement and leadership experience required
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with time-sensitive deadlines and multiple demands
  • Proactive, creative and flexible in approaching undefined projects
  • Ability to learn and work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
  • Sound business judgment and ethics
