Position Summary

The Investments Analyst supports the management and oversight of UBF's investment portfolios, including the endowment, charitable gift annuities, and trust accounts, with total assets of approximately $1.5+ billion across multiple asset classes. In coordination with the Director of Investments, the Analyst assists with portfolio administration functions, performance monitoring, portfolio analytics and investment research.

The position involves exposure to a diversified set of investments, including public equities and fixed income, hedge funds, private investments, and other alternative investment strategies. The Investments Analyst contributes to ongoing portfolio maintenance and supports decision-making through analysis, reporting, and preparation of materials for senior leadership and the Investment Committee.

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Support the enhancement and governance of investment performance measurement systems, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and alignment with GIPS consistent best practices across all asset classes for public markets, private markets, and alternative investment strategies.
  • Evaluate the Long-Term Portfolio (LTP) through performance attribution, benchmarking, and strategy level analytics, to support investment committee decision making and long term objectives.
  • Prepare and synthesize investment reports and presentations for investment staff, senior management, trustees, and external partners highlighting performance trends, risk insights, portfolio positioning, and key findings.
  • Support performance measurement, asset allocation research, data management initiatives, and investment operations in fulfillment of the organization's fiduciary responsibilities.
  • Support due diligence for new and existing investment managers by reviewing documentation, analyzing risks, validating data, and preparing materials for internal approvals and governance meetings.
  • Contribute to internal and external investment research across traditional and alternative asset classes, supporting strategic asset allocation, manager selection, and market assessments.
  • Assist with special projects and ad hoc analytical requests, including scenario analysis, portfolio diagnostics, operational due diligence, and investment committee deliverables.
  • Collaborate with investment, operations, legal, audit, and risk teams to support effective governance, transparency, and compliance with institutional investment policies.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience; applicable experience may include internships or full-time roles in asset management, endowments, foundations, Outsourced Chief Investment Officer (OCIO) or related investment organizations.
  • Strong interest in institutional asset management, portfolio analytics, or investment research.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications, with advanced Excel skills.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without visa sponsorship.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Progress toward, or interest in pursuing, the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation preferred.
  • Experience with Python or other programming language.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret, synthesize and evaluate complex financial data.
  • Proficiency in creating, maintaining, and analyzing complex spreadsheets, performance reports, and other investment-related documentation, with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment while managing multiple priorities effectively.
  • High ethical standards and integrity, including the ability to handle sensitive, confidential or proprietary information.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and solutions-oriented, with strong interpersonal skills to build credibility with internal stakeholders and external managers and service providers.
