Full Job Description
The Tax Supervisor is responsible for overseeing client communication, ensuring staff meet deliverables, reviewing and signing off on tax workpapers, and training staff in tax calculations and returns. The role requires proficiency in tasks performed by Tax Analysts and Senior Tax Analysts and emphasizes strong client relationship and teamwork skills.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Management Reporting
  • Prepare status reporting for management review


2. Monitor and Scheduling of deliverables
  • Assign and monitor departmental progress on various deliverables.


3. Income Tax Provision
  • Review the Fund income tax provision
  • Clear audit points.


4. Security Analysis
  • Prepare and review the investment security analysis.
  • Coordinate approaches with the Financial Reporting and Fund Accounting Teams
  • Clear audit points.


5. Income Tax Allocations
  • Review the income tax allocations to each partner.
  • Analyze special allocated items
  • Review application of management and incentive fees


6. Analysis of Structure
  • Consult and train others on funds structure to properly asses investors requirements.


7. Reportable Transactions / Flow Through Items
  • Review staff prepared footnotes including UBTI, ECI, State Sourcing
  • Review Reportable Transactions


8. Tax Planning
  • Review Tax Estimates required for the Funds
  • Work with the client to assist with investor questions
  • Be competent to analyze the structure and plan for investors.


Education level and/or relevant experience(s)
  • BS/BA degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 3+ years of Partnership tax experience


Knowledge and skills (general and technical)
  • Proven ability to work with people and facilitate the smooth workflow between Investment Tax and other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong client service skills
  • Strong supervisory skills with the ability to prioritize
  • Understanding of partnership tax related tax code sections, forms and elections, and tax adjustments of securities.


Other requirements (licenses, certifications, specialized training, physical or mental abilities required)
  • Ability to conceptualize and execute projects and initiatives through to completion
  • Creative problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify, recommend, and implement solutions for tax-related client issues


Salary Range

$80,000 - $120,000 Base Salary + Annual Target Bonus
