POSITION SUMMARY

The Investment Manager is responsible for the analysis, monitoring, and oversight of the company's investment portfolio, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, risk parameters, and product requirements.

This role serves as the primary internal interface with external investment partners, including The Bahnsen Group, and is accountable for evaluating portfolio performance, reviewing investment positioning, and ensuring consistency between investment strategy and product design.

The Investment Manager also provides oversight of middle office investment operations, ensuring that trade execution, reconciliation, and portfolio records accurately reflect investment decisions and activity.

In the start-up phase of the Life & Investment Division, this role plays a key part in establishing the investment governance framework, performance monitoring processes, and reporting structures required for the September 2026 launch, ensuring transparency, control, and alignment across all investment activities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Portfolio Analysis & Performance Monitoring
    • Analyze investment portfolio performance, including returns, risk metrics, asset allocation, and positioning relative to benchmarks and product objectives.
    • Monitor portfolio composition and investment strategies to ensure alignment with risk profiles, benchmark adherence, product design, and regulatory requirements.
    • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.
  • External Investment Partner Management
    • Act as the primary point of contact with external investment partners, including the external asset management advisor.
    • Review and challenge investment strategies, performance results, and portfolio positioning.
    • Coordinate reporting, performance reviews, and periodic investment discussions with external managers.
  • Investment Governance & Oversight
    • Ensure that investment activities are executed in accordance with approved mandates, guidelines, and internal governance frameworks.
    • Support the development and maintenance of investment policies, guidelines, and monitor the Open Architecture individual portfolios performance.
    • Provide input into Investment Committee discussions and materials.
  • Middle Office Oversight & Operational Alignment
    • Provide oversight and functional supervision of middle office investment operations, ensuring accurate execution, reconciliation, and record-keeping.
    • Ensure alignment between investment decisions and operational execution, including trade processing and portfolio updates.
    • Serve as a backup resource for middle office functions when required.
  • Reporting & Decision Support
    • Prepare investment reports, dashboards, and analysis for senior management, Finance Director, and Investment Committee.
    • Support financial planning, product development, and actuarial analysis with investment-related insights.
  • Innovation & Analytical Tools
    • Leverage advanced analytical tools, including Excel and AI-enabled methodologies, to enhance investment analysis, reporting, and decision support.
    • Support the development of structured prompts or analytical frameworks to improve efficiency in portfolio analysis and reporting.

  • Portfolio Performance Monitoring: Accuracy and timeliness of performance analysis and reporting.
  • Risk Oversight: Identification and management of portfolio risks and deviations from strategy.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Investments, or a related field; CFA or progress toward CFA strongly preferred.
  • 5-8 years of experience in investment management, portfolio analysis, or asset management oversight.
  • Strong understanding of portfolio construction, asset allocation, and investment risk analysis.
  • Experience working with external asset managers, advisors, or investment platforms.
  • Familiarity with investment reporting, performance measurement, and benchmarking.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel; experience with analytical tools and data platforms preferred.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and communication skills.
  • Ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels.
