The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking and client-centric firm that is deeply committed to building better portfolios and delivering superior investment outcomes. we're currently looking for an Investment Counsellor, you will advise high-net-worth and institutional clients, leveraging a disciplined investment approach and the expertise of a collaborative team to support their long-term financial goals. We are seeking a seasoned investment professional with a proven ability to cultivate and strengthen relationships with centers of influence while deepening connections with clients. You'll be part of a firm that values integrity, thought leadership, and client success at every stage.

The expected annual base salary for this role is $120,000 - $150,000, with the final number depending on your experience, skills, and education. On top of that, you'll be eligible for our discretionary bonus program.

To support our current business priorities, we are open to candidates located in either Calgary or Montreal and welcome applications from professionals in both markets.

You'll have opportunity to learn and lead:
  • Advise high-net-worth and institutional clients with tailored, discretionary investment strategies aligned to their financial goals.
  • Build and maintain long-term client relationships through proactive communication, regular portfolio reviews, and exceptional service.
  • Act as a trusted advisor by addressing client concerns, sharing market insights, and collaborating with their broader financial team (e.g., tax, estate, legal).
  • Conduct in-depth assessments of client objectives, risk tolerance, time horizon, and preferences to inform portfolio construction.
  • Monitor, rebalance, and review portfolios to ensure ongoing alignment with client needs and market conditions.
  • Develop and execute business development strategies to identify and convert new opportunities across HNW and institutional segments.
  • Cultivate a strong referral network through partnerships with legal professionals, accountants, and investment consultants.
  • Collaborate with internal teams-including portfolio construction, compliance, and operations-to ensure seamless execution and high-quality support.
  • Stay current on global markets, economic trends, and regulatory developments to inform client strategy and firm-wide insights.
  • Uphold the highest ethical standards, maintaining full regulatory compliance and acting in the best interest of each client.


What we're looking for
  • 5-10+ years of experience in investment counselling, institutional relationship management, or discretionary portfolio management.
  • CFA charter holder and/or CIM designation required.
  • Current registration as an Advising Representative in good standing with the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) or another provincial securities regulator.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Canadian investment landscape, capital markets, and regulatory environment.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to gain the trust of sophisticated investors.
  • Demonstrated success in business development and growing assets under management.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis and synthesizing investment strategies.
  • Professional presence with strong presentation and client-facing capabilities.
  • A collaborative team player and independent self-starter with a commitment to excellence.
