About the Role
The Emerging Market investment associate reports to the co-head of Emerging Market debt and assists portfolio managers and strategists on the team with day to day portfolio management.
About the Team
The Emerging Market debt team is a research driven investment team managing approximately $4 bn in AUM. The team specializes in EM hard currency credit and local currency bond investing.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop a strong working knowledge of the EM debt opportunity set to support internal and external ad hoc data requests including performance, portfolio and index characteristics (spreads, yields, etc).
- Assist in development of thematic research and presentation manual.
- Verify internal data output to ensure accuracy in the monthly and quarterly reporting cycle.
- Independently prepare reports for weekly meetings.
- Work with senior team members to enhance or customize team's reports to help in portfolio management process.
- Prepare ad-hoc analysis as requested by the investment team and assist with various projects.
- Support data management inclusive of ESG KPIs for ESG focused clients and funds. Support ESG regulation reporting.
- Participate in management meetings and/or sell-side meetings hosted in our office; prepare and distribute summary notes internally.
Qualifications & Education Requirements
- Strong interest in emerging markets and an interest in learning investment management.
- Strong academic credentials including an undergraduate degree, preferably in business, finance or economics.
- Experience working with large sets of data.
- Clear and concise oral and written communication.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate as part of a team.
- A positive approach, a flexible attitude, and a sense of humor.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (formulas, charts, pivot tables)
Additional Requirements
The position follows a hybrid schedule with two days work from home and three days work from office.
Loomis Sayles is committed to offering competitive and equitable compensation. The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $100,000 USD. Your starting salary will be based on your experience, skills, qualifications and local benchmarking. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual incentive award, which is based on individual and company performance.
