Summary

You will serve as a INVESTIGATOR in the Fleet Inspector General Office of COMMANDER US PACIFIC FLEET.

Duties

Help

  • You will investigate and provide or coordinate investigation services to obtain facts and information relative to violations of law, executive orders, and federal regulations.
  • You will investigate and coordinate coordinate investigations of fraud, waste, abuse, mismanagement and reprisal in response to Department of War (DoW) and Department of the Navy (DON) Hotline Complaints.
  • You will investigate Intelligence Oversight complaints involving Questionable Intelligence Activities (QIA) or Sensitive/Highly Sensitive Matters (S/HSM).
  • You will provide technical advice and staff assistance to all levels of management, visiting Investigators, and individual staff members.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.


Qualifications

GS-13 Grade Level

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: planning, directing, and executing highly complex and sensitive investigations into allegations of waste, fraud, abuse, and mismanagement by applying advanced analytical techniques; reading and interpreting broad, often ambiguous regulations and statutes to provide authoritative guidance on organizational compliance and enforcement; communicating written and orally to draft comprehensive investigative reports, coordinate with external agencies, and brief senior-level military and civilian officials on sensitive case findings and recommended dispositions.

GS-12 Grade Level

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: planning and conducting complex investigations into allegations of waste, fraud, and abuse by applying rigorous analytical techniques to gather and evaluate evidence; reading and interpreting relevant regulations and administrative policies to ensure compliance and enforcement during all investigative activities; communicating written and orally to effectively interview diverse subjects, logically summarize findings, and document recommendations for case disposition.

This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

PPP applicants will be placed at the FPL, if determined Well Qualified (WQ). To receive priority consideration, the FPL must be the same grade level or equivalent of the retained grade or the grade held immediately prior to separation.
