Qualifications and Requirements

Candidates for the position of Special Financial Investigator I must possess:

  • Fluency in speaking and writing English
  • a) Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university, OR
  • b) Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university, AND possess ten (10) years of substantial, documented experience in dealing with financial matters and investigating financial crimes.
  • Twelve years' experience in criminal investigation work as a sworn police officer in the State of New York as defined by Section 1.20(34) Criminal Procedure Law.

Required Skills

  • Thorough knowledge of applicable NYS statutes, court decisions and administrative rulings.
  • Skill in ascertaining facts by personal contact, observation and examination of financial records.
  • Ability to testify effectively in court.
  • Ability to prepare detailed reports.

The pay range for this role is:

90,690 - 90,690 USD per year (272 OCR)
