Full Job Description
This position reports to:
Senior Business Controller

As the USLATAM Inventory Controller, you will provide financial leadership and governance over inventory-related processes across the ELIP US Region, including raw materials, work-in-process (WIP), and finished goods. This role is responsible for driving visibility, transparency, and financial control of inventory performance by analyzing key metrics and benchmarking KPIs to identify trends, risks, and opportunities that impact business results.

Serving as the primary finance partner to USLATAM Region Operations Leader, USLATAM Operations Controller and reporting to the USLATAM Region CFO, you will assess the financial implications of inventory management across U.S. manufacturing plants and distribution centers, valued at $225M+. Working closely with site leadership and finance teams, you will evaluate inventory risks, support decision-making, strengthen controls, and recommend continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational and financial performance.

This position can be based anywhere in the United States and requires 25-30% travel on a quarterly basis to support plant and distribution center operations. #LI-Remote

Key responsibilities for the role:
  • Serve as the primary finance partner to US Region Operations Leader, USLATAM Operations Controller and the USLATAM Region CFO (among other key folks) on inventory-related financial matters, providing insights into inventory performance, risks, and business impacts. Partner closely with Operations Managers and site leadership to identify and implement improvements in inventory management processes, controls, and performance.
  • Identify areas of weakness and drive continuous improvement by reviewing, monitoring, and preparing management reporting related to raw materials, work-in-process (WIP), and finished goods inventory across the ELIP US Region.
  • Provide end-to-end visibility and analysis of inventory at the SKU and product-line level, including raw materials, WIP, and finished goods, to support operational and financial decision-making. Oversee scheduled cycle count activities and coordinate physical inventory counts for raw materials and WIP, ensuring compliance with inventory control policies and accurate inventory valuation.
  • Serve as the finance lead for inventory-related projects, partnering with manufacturing plants, distribution centers, and cross-functional stakeholders to improve inventory accuracy, efficiency, and controls. Assess inventory-related financial risks and opportunities, recommend corrective actions, and support the implementation of best practices to strengthen controls and optimize working capital.
  • Leads through influence by fostering strong partnerships across functions and locations. Provides guidance, coaching, and subject matter expertise to operational and finance stakeholders, driving alignment, capability development, and adoption of best practices to achieve inventory management and control objectives.


Requirements for the role:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance or accounting is required.
  • Should have minimum 10+ years of experience or advanced theoretical with 8+ years of experience. At least 3 years of experience in a senior Finance role related to Plant / Operations/ Distribution Centers is required.
  • Strong costing knowledge and understanding of factory/distribution center accounting + sales accounting.
  • MS Office, Solid SAP knowledge/experience (CO/FI) preferred. Experience in Power BI and other new generation software tools in finance.
  • Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.

While base salary is determined by things such as the successful applicant's qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay between $142,500 and $228,000 annually and is eligible for a short-term incentive plan/annual bonus.
