Full Time Standard Office Hours

Summary

Physician has a dotted line reporting relationship structure between clinic management and physician leadership including the Physician Clinic Chief, Physician Medical Director, Physician Executive Medical Director, Chief Medical Officer. Physician provides patient care in accordance with the medical standards specific to their specialty. As a member of the medical group, the Physician provides collaborative care within the community by navigating patients through the healthcare system. Physician is seen as a leader within the team structure established in the clinic setting.

Qualifications

Required:

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited college
  • DEA licensure and Nevada controlled substance license
  • Board Certification or board eligible in their specific specialty
  • Active and unrestricted licensure to practice medicine within the State of Nevada
  • Medical staff privileges at Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center

Essential Functions

  • Provides professional medical services for patients within the standard of care in the specialty the Physician is board certified or board eligible to provide.
  • Orders appropriate laboratory tests, radiology tests, prescribes pharmaceuticals, and provides treatment options to patients using best judgement of medical decision-making.
  • Analyzes the results of ordered tests and provides treatments for follow-up care as needed.
  • Initiates and facilitates patient referrals to other physicians, clinics and health care facilities, using clinic/ hospital procedures and completes appropriate paperwork.
  • Ensures all medical documentation, orders and prescriptions must go through the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Performs any procedures consistent with standard care in the specialty of the Physician.
  • Completes documentation and signs off on patient charts within two business days of the time of service.
  • Responds to patient portal messages within two business days.
  • Participates in meetings during non-patient contact hours as requested by administration.
  • Participates in clinic and hospital call as agreed upon by administration and other clinic providers.
  • Is responsible for finding coverage for working personal in-basket in the EHR when on leave.
  • May supervise/collaborate with one or more Advanced Practice Clinicians.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
