DescriptionStory County Medical Center is seeking a patient-centered
Internal Medicine Physician to join our team in Nevada, Iowa. This role focuses on the prevention, diagnosis, and management of adult and chronic conditions. You'll be part of a collaborative, community-focused organization that values relationships, teamwork, and high-quality care.
What You'll Do- Provide comprehensive care for adult patients, including diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic conditions
- Develop and manage individualized, evidence-based care plans
- Deliver preventive care, including screenings, immunizations, and lifestyle counseling
- Manage chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and cardiovascular conditions
- Participate in minimal rotational inpatient and skilled care coverage (admissions, rounding, coordination of care)
- Collaborate with specialists, nursing, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans and long-term health management
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing professional development
What We're Looking ForRequired:- MD or DO from an accredited medical school
- Licensed (or eligible) to practice in Iowa
- Board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine
- DEA registration
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification
Preferred:- PALS certification
- Previous experience in internal medicine or primary care
