About the Role
As a Senior Consultant, Internal Communications, you will play a key role in designing, delivering, and elevating communications that support CGI Federal's culture, business priorities, and growth strategy. You'll partner closely with leaders and colleagues across the U.S. and globally-strengthening alignment, fostering transparency, and supporting change in a dynamic, fast paced environment.
You will bring both strategic thinking and hands on execution, helping translate complex topics into compelling content that resonates across diverse audiences. Your work will directly contribute to building a workplace where employees feel informed, valued, and empowered to grow.
The position is located in our Fairfax, VA office (preferred) or our Lafayette, LA; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable.
Your future duties and responsibilities: Digital & Editorial Execution
• Project manage timelines and delivery of internal communications across multiple digital platforms-including email distribution tools and Microsoft Teams.
• Write and edit communications for targeted audiences and enterprise wide distribution, ensuring clarity, accuracy, strong editorial standards, and brand consistency.
• Serve as an editorial reviewer, routing content for internal review and providing thoughtful copy editing and feedback.
• Execute production of email campaigns-including design, development, segmentation, and dissemination.
Lead the development of the weekly email newsletter and other recurring campaigns.
• Manage quality control processes for all mass email communication, ensuring brand adherence and accurate information.
Content & Creative Collaboration
• Partner with internal matrixed resources to develop graphics, digital assets, and creative visual content.
• Offer editorial guidance to Internal Communications team members and internal clients across CGI Federal.
• Maintain a solid understanding of branding principles to amplify and protect the CGI brand.
• Support content strategy by providing creative solutions, identifying opportunities for innovation, and recommending digital best practices.
Reporting, Analytics & Optimization
• Develop regular performance reports to track key metrics across digital platforms and communicate insights to key stakeholders.
• Use analytics to recommend enhancements to communication approaches, segmentation strategies, and digital formats.
Channel & Platform Management
• Work with digital platforms such as Poppulo and Workshop to prepare email communications and newsletters.
• Update SharePoint Online pages, add web parts and visual elements, manage audience segmentation, and support overall content accuracy.
Ensure effective dissemination of timely, accurate information across all internal channels.
Project Management & Cross Functional Collaboration
• Plan and manage communications under tight deadlines, flexing between multiple priorities and shifting needs in a fast paced environment.
• Work independently while effectively engaging leaders, stakeholders, and cross cultural teams.
• Collaborate with colleagues to manage conflict, build strong working relationships, and support communications across levels and functions.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation
• Bring forward an out of the box mindset to propose innovative digital practices, experiential formats, and modern storytelling tools.
• Demonstrate curiosity and commitment to learning new trends, technologies, and communication methods.
• Support other duties as needed to bolster Internal Communications team priorities.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:• Bachelor's degree and a minimum of five years of experience in communications, with a strong focus on internal communications; complementary experience in marketing, graphic design, branding, or digital media preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage conflict and build productive relationships across levels and functions.
• Proven ability to balance competing priorities, meet deadlines, and thrive in an evolving, fast paced business environment.
• Solid understanding of branding principles and ability to translate complex business strategies into clear, engaging narratives.
• Demonstrated curiosity and commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
Experience using data and analytics to inform decisions and set strategic direction.
Strong background developing corporate communications plans, executing tactics, and measuring results.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including precise editing and high attention to detail.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and SharePoint Online.
Desired Qualifications
• Experience working effectively within a matrixed organization.
Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud and ability to support or oversee basic image/video editing.
• Experience supporting change management communications.
Strong capabilities using digital communication platforms such as Poppulo and Workshop.
• Experience using Microsoft Teams to facilitate communication and drive collaboration among large stakeholder groups.
• Knowledge of SharePoint functionality, content management, and digital user experience.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $70,800.00 $176,300.00.
