Intermediate toSenior Transportation Design Engineer to join our
Mobility Advisory & Planning team in Alberta. You'll work alongside multidisciplinary experts-planners, engineers, designers, and technical leaders-who share a passion for shaping connected, future-ready communities.
You will work across a diverse portfolio of transportation studies and design projects, bringing your leadership, technical expertise, and advisory experience to deliver exceptional outcomes for clients across Alberta and beyond. You will be part of a highly successful team delivering high-profile work for municipal governments and private developers.
Your Impact- Preparing and contributing to transportation studies for provincial and municipal roads, transit planning studies, conceptual plans, functional and/or conceptual design, as well as functional and preliminary design activities.
- Liaising with clients, project team members, technical agencies, and road authorities regarding project requirements in developing creative and effective solutions.
- Leading the delivery of Transportation Design projects, including Municipal, Transit, and Private Development projects.
- Collaborating with a team of transportation/traffic engineers, planners, and designers within the Mobility Advisory & Planning team, as well as other technical disciplines, in developing and implementing multi-modal planning and design solutions.
- Overseeing and conducting site plan reviews for several projects ranging from small to large developments to ensure each site functions well based on municipal design standards, including parking and loading.
- Responsible for quality assurance and control with adherence to TAC Geometric Design Standards, municipal design requirements, transportation engineering standards, and best practices.
- Supervising, training, and mentoring junior employees.
- Continuous knowledge sharing, training, and mentoring to develop your skills and career.
- Participating in business development initiatives, including conducting research, preparing input for proposals, and coordinating input from the multi-disciplinary team.
- Other duties as assigned/required.
The Skills That Set You Apart- Minimum Undergraduate Degree in Engineering.
- Registered Professional Engineer in Alberta.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive transportation design-related experience.
- Strong communication skills (writing and presentations).
- Leadership and coordination abilities working within a team environment.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (WORD, EXCEL, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project).
- Experience with Trafficware's Synchro, SIDRA, VISSIM, HCS and/or Vistro.
- Experience with presentation and graphics-related programs, such as InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, and Bluebeam, will make you stand out among your peers.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and independently.

$104,100 - $138,000MB & ON:
$95,000 - $130,800NB, NL, NS, PE & QC:
$94,100 - $124,900Disclosure:The final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
