Join WSP's Water Treatment team as an Intermediate Chemical Engineer, where your expertise will help deliver impactful water and wastewater solutions across industrial, mine, and municipal systems. Based in Vancouver, Victoria, Calgary, or Edmonton, you'll contribute to projects that protect communities, support sustainable development, and advance water treatment innovation across Western Canada.

Your Impact
  • Deliver water and wastewater treatment projects that support industrial, mining, and municipal clients across Western Canada.
  • Lead or support project management activities, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to quality standards.
  • Develop strong working relationships with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and multidisciplinary WSP teams.
  • Prepare high-quality technical reports, specifications, process schematics, and layout drawings.
  • Perform process analysis and design including technology selection, equipment sizing, hydraulic analysis, mass balances, modeling, and 3D layouts.
  • Review and enhance technical work completed by junior engineers, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  • Mentor and support junior colleagues through hands-on training and knowledge sharing.
  • Balance multiple projects simultaneously while adapting to evolving schedules and priorities.
The Skills That Set You Apart
  • Undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering with registration as a P.Eng. in Canada.
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience in water and wastewater treatment projects.
  • Proven experience in process modeling, technology selection, and equipment specification.
  • Working knowledge of HYSYS/HYSIM, OLI, or METSIM (considered an asset).
  • Strong technical writing, verbal communication, and stakeholder coordination skills.
  • Experience with project management, proposal development, and engineering cost estimates.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Field, construction, and commissioning experience considered an asset; valid driver's license required.
Compensation

Compensation:
AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $114,600 - $151,800
MB & ON: $104,500 - $143,900
NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $103,500 - $137,400
