Your Opportunity:

Your role as an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer and contributor on our professional consulting services team is to work as part of a larger team to execute project design and contract administration. You will be based out of the Markham, ON office.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Actively participate in the design of building (HVAC and Plumbing) mechanical systems for projects in the institutional, transit, food and beverage, mission critical, industrial and commercial sectors as an integral member of the mechanical design team.
  • Create, develop and maintain project design models and drawings using latest BIM/Revit/CAD techniques in accordance with established standards and design principals.
  • Coordinate mechanical designs, models and drawings packages with other engineering/architectural disciplines as part of the complete design solutions.
  • Identify discrepancies in models, drawings and information and resolve through appropriate methods and channels.
  • Review models, drawings, and information to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Perform changes, additions and/or revisions as required.
  • Participate in the tendering and construction phases of the project as required to support the consultants role on the project.
  • Perform field reviews to support the design phase and verification of construction during project execution.


Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials
  • Strong knowledge of building services, controls, HVAC, plumbing and drainage and fire protection
  • Experience in project management.
  • Experience in energy conservation work, energy modelling and IAQ an asset.
  • Strong computer skills, ideally including Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with quality control and production scheduling is preferred.
  • Experience working independently, without detailed supervision.
  • Ability to liaise with clients and contractors.
  • Ability to manage a team of technical staff is an asset.
  • Experience with Mission Critical Projects is an asset.
  • Experience with creating Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) models is an asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering
  • P.Eng. designation
  • 6+ years of experience in designing mechanical systems within the consulting engineering industry.

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may require travel and include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
