Your future role on our team

BBA is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for mine processplants to support our continued growth in Central Canada. You'll play a keyrole in all phases of engineering projects, from front end-studies through tofield implementation with a focus on detailed engineering. As a senior memberof the Mechanical Engineering team, you'll be responsible for ensuringtechnical quality, developing new business opportunities and fostering teamdevelopment.

  • Lead and participate in conceptual design studies, pre-feasibility studies, feasibility studies and detailed engineering projects
  • Lead and participate in preparing plans and specifications and perform detailed engineering based on guidelines for mandates involving heavy machinery, conveyors, pump systems, crushers and metallurgical processes
  • Perform various calculations for equipment sizing and design
  • Supervise or carry out design calculations and ensure plans meet guidelines as well as legal and regulatory requirements
  • Establish and maintain relationships with clients to define their needs
  • Present technical information, concepts or study results
  • Verify and produce files for tenders, specifications and other technical documents
  • Assign and review the work of junior engineers (engineers-in-training), technicians and drafters assigned to projects and assess technical scope
  • Coordinate the work of drafters or other employees, as requested by a senior engineer
  • Ensure work complies with budgets, schedules, estimates and established procedures
  • Assist more experienced personnel with the technical aspects of complex tasks
  • Perform technical information surveys, when necessary
  • On occasion, monitor contractors on site

Summary of certifications and jobrequirements

  • University degree in mechanical engineering
  • Member in good standing with PEO
  • At least five years of relevant experience
  • Experience in mechanical engineering in the industrial, energy or mining sectors
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, SolidWorks and SmartPlant applications
  • Available for short-term (mandatory) and long-term (asset) assignments at client offices or sites in Ontario and the rest of Canada
  • Asset: bilingual (English/French - spoken and written)
  • Asset: experience with and knowledge of HVAC and dust handling systems
  • Asset: experience with and knowledge of underground mining infrastructure systems (dewatering, compressed air, ventilation, etc.)
