Full Job Description
Intermediate Geochemist to support our mining and environmental consulting services.

Working within our EMIE Group, you will advance your career in our "One Team Culture" that focuses on growing strong, collaborative teams committed to high quality project delivery. You would have the opportunity to work out of EMIE's Calgary or Edmonton, AB offices, integrated within a team of environmental scientists that collaborate extensively with teams in other business units throughout the company.

This role will give you the opportunity to:

  • Conduct geochemical analyses of soil, rock, and water samples to assess environmental impact and identify potential risks associated with mining activities.
  • Develop and implement geochemical models to predict long-term trends and assess the effectiveness of mitigation measures.
  • Collaborate with engineers, geologists, hydrogeologists, and environmental scientists to design and implement monitoring programs and remediation strategies.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and regulatory submissions to communicate findings and recommendations to clients and regulatory authorities.
  • Stay current with industry developments, and best practices in geochemistry.
  • Work with junior staff and providing guidance.
  • Complete field work and business travel within Canada and Internationally as Project work requires.


We respect the knowledge and experience you have gained to date and are willing to help you build on it. We do however request the following minimum qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Geology, Earth Science, or Environmental Geoscience specializing in Geochemistry or equivalent; specialization in Surface Water Quality, Hydrogeology, or Contaminant Transport is also an asset.
  • Minimum four years' experience related to geochemical analysis.
  • Professional or member-in-training registration (e.g., P.Geo., P.Eng.).
  • Valid driver's license, Class 5.
