Full Job Description
Manages integration activities throughout the software development life cycle, including analysis, design, implementation, go-live, and support. Recommends process, technology, and interface improvements to enhance team effectiveness and the integration engine. Analyzes and proposes solutions for interface projects and problems, understanding the scope and impact of design decisions under senior team guidance. Reads, comprehends, and creates technical specifications and documentation. Performs analysis and gathers requirements with limited senior team member input. Researches and provides interface solutions for new projects, designing changes and enhancements for low to medium complexity projects. Designs routing, mapping, and scripting logic for interfaces with minimal senior team member guidance. Diagrams high-level and detailed interface designs and creates detailed conformance documents. Develops and codes interfaces using standards or protocols like HL7, CCD, XML, X12, FTP, FHIR, web services, API, etc., according to specifications. Codes interface logic using programming and scripting languages to efficiently meet customer needs while adhering to quality standards set by management (e.g., ObjectScripts, Korn shell). Performs unit, system, functional and integration testing, troubleshooting and resolving issues to ensure interfaces function correctly and efficiently. Collaborates with stakeholders, including physicians and end users, to document workflows, perform gap analysis, and develop future workflows. Participates in on-call rotation and other duties as assigned. Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Ability to logically read and comprehend technical and/or functional manuals and instructions [Required]
• Troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve low to medium complexity issues [Required]
• Working knowledge of HL7, interoperability standards, or system integration concepts [Required]
• Research and analysis skills to design new interfaces or enhance existing interfaces for solutions of low or medium complexity [Required]
• Knowledge of healthcare interoperability concepts and architecture [Required]
• Knowledge of interface engines (such as Health Connect, Epic Bridges, or comparable interface engine). [Preferred]
Education:
• Bachelor's [Preferred]
Field of Study:
• in a field of study such as Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
Work Experience:
• 1+ systems integration experience preferably in a healthcare it environment [Required]
• 3+ systems analysis or programming with emphasis in applications and systems architectural design and development, database and middleware technologies [Preferred]
• 4+ it work [Required]
• Coordinating competing priorities and issues to facilitate appropriate client support and escalation of issues [Required]
• Epic, Cerner, HL7, Linux or UNIX, Scripting Languages (ObjectScripts, TCL, Korn shell, or comparable), CCD or CDA, Health Connect, Epic Bridges, Cloverleaf, Cerner Open Engine, CCL or Discern Explorer, Relational Database, HL7 v2.x, FHIR, Web Services or API development [Preferred]
• SQL [Preferred]
• With healthcare operations or healthcare IT [Preferred]
• With interface on-call support [Preferred]
• Working multiple projects concurrently [Required]

$60,151.66 - $111,886.39
