EXP is currently seeking an Intermediate Environmental Engineer in its Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA) with an opportunity to work out of either our Markham, Brampton or Hamilton office depending on candidate preference. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing Environmental Investigation and Remediation support for EXP throughout the GTHA.

What a day at EXP has in store for you
  • Provide leadership, training, and operational support to junior and intermediate staff in the areas of environmental site assessment and remediation, as applicable, within the framework of Ontario Regulation 153/04;
  • Manage the technical, schedule and budgetary elements of projects and provide day-to-day project management and compliance with site, corporate and regulatory standards;
  • Serve as a resource in your field(s) of expertise;
  • Analyze and prepare documentation, presentations and reports for internal and external stakeholders;
  • Gain and share knowledge through participation in technical societies and/or attendance at internal and external programs; to a degree consistent with individual and business sector goals;
  • Engage with other senior members within the firm to advance our brand and standing with clients.

What your experience looks like
  • Currently have or are eligible to have Professional Engineer designation in Ontario (P.Eng.);
  • Over 5 years of experience in the environmental field in Ontario; Preference will be given to those with consulting experience;
  • University degree in Engineering;
  • Knowledge of provincial (Ontario Regulation 153/04, Ontario Regulation 406/19, Ontario Regulation 407/19, etc.), and federal (CCME) guidelines for contaminated sites assessments;
  • Experience in contaminated sites investigations (Phase I/One and II/Two ESAs) is a requirement;
  • Experience in remediation is preferred;
  • A motivated, self-starter with a demonstrated ability to work independently as well as within a team environment;
  • Detail oriented, organized and self-motivated individual; and
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as technical writing ability.
