Applied R&D (AR) consists of target-oriented research either with the goal of solving a particular problem / answering a specific question or for multi-discipline design, development, and implementation of hardware, software, and systems including maintenance support. Supplies techno-economic consulting to clients. AR work is characterised by its detailed and complex nature in order to systematically combine existing knowledge and practices to further developing and incrementally improving products, operational processes, and customer-specific feature development.

Join our team as we continue to expand our product portfolio in the Data Center and Carrier Service Provider. The IP Routing Hardware organization is very flat - there are few levels of management between the Individual Contributor and the VP of Hardware. We are also very lean - each Hardware Engineer spends more time doing engineering work and less time on overhead. As a result, your work has high visibility, and your decisions directly impact product design.

Responsibilities

As a Hardware Engineer, you will:
  • Design complex, multilayer printed circuit boards
  • Drive and manage your design through the development process from concept to production release
  • Verify prototype hardware under thermal and environmental conditions
  • Work with the Factory to release a high-quality product
  • Resolve customer issues quickly and professionally


Qualifications

Minimum B.Sc or B.Eng in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience designing complex PCB designs
  • Understanding of Ultra high-speed PCB circuit design and methodologies
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, and leadership skills

It would be nice if you also had:
  • Experience with stack-up design, signal integrity simulation, and power circuitry
  • Familiarity with EMC/EMI/Safety and ITU/IEEE/Bellcore telecommunications standards
  • Programming/Scripting ability (C/Python)
