Description

Description: Director of Supply Chain and Logistics. The Director of Supply Chain and Logistics will oversee, and be responsible for, all Procurement, Logistics, and Customs Clearance functions that support AAR Component Services Grand Prairie. Responsible for parts procurement, coordinating customer repair inputs, tracking, reporting, document preparation, inventory management, and process control. This role will develop and implement standardized procedures to ensure the efficient flow of materials and the effectiveness of the order fulfillment process. It will also ensure that requirements and workflows are aligned to meet both customer expectations and company established key performance metrics. The Director of Supply Chain and Logistics will report to the Director of Operations and will oversee multiple direct reports across the logistics and procurement departments. What you will be responsible for: Reduce part shortages while maintaining optimal inventory levels Formalize forecasting, plan for each part to ensure accurate reorder points and safety stock Establish and implement formal PO management process and procedures Develop personnel in the Supply Chain and Logistic Departments Oversee inbound and outbound logistics for domestic and international shipments of aircraft parts and equipment. Ownership of clearance, TIB process Coordinates efforts between customers, internal stakeholders (CSRs, SandR personnel, operations), AAR Trade Compliance, etc. Manage relationships with freight forwarders and customs brokers for import-and export compliance and timely clearance. Negotiate supplier and freight agreements to reduce costs and improve service levels. What you will need to be successful in this role: Bachelor of Arts degree (B.A.) or Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university; or eight years related experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Five (5) years of logistics-supply experience of which two years involves the handling aircraft parts. - Five (5) years of experience managing a large staff. Knowledge of MSDS, lATA, and general guidelines-regulations to shipping and handling hazardous goods or materials Broad knowledge of international shipping requirements Physical Demands-Work Environment: The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
