Full Job Description
LMN is seeking a full-time Interior Designer to join our team. This role is well suited for an interior designer with 7-10 years of professional experience who is passionate about design, demonstrates a strong conceptual skillset and design sensibility, and values the process of developing ideas through concept diagrams, visualization, and material exploration. The ideal candidate works both independently and collaboratively, takes ownership of their work, contributes to design leadership within project teams, and ensures that design intent is clearly communicated through accurate, coordinated, and buildable documentation.

Key job responsibilities include:
  • Lead and participate in interior design efforts across a range of project types, from concept development through design execution, documentation, and construction administration.
  • Drive conceptual design thinking developing strong narratives and design intent through concept diagrams, sketches, material explorations, and visualization that connect ideas to the built environment.
  • Work with increasing independence while fostering collaborative professional relationships with design leads, architects, and consultants to achieve cohesive and integrated interior and architectural design solutions.
  • Develop programming documents, design concepts, and space plans in alignment with client goals, project parameters, and firm standards, with the ability to contribute original design thinking and creative solutions.
  • Manage and prioritize interior design deliverables within overall project workflows, including organizing tasks, coordinating meetings, tracking schedules, and meeting deadlines.
  • Prepare and contribute to design and construction documents, including detailing of interior architectural elements, with an emphasis on accuracy, coordination, and constructability.
  • Apply a strong working knowledge of interior finishes, materials, and products in support of high-quality, durable design solutions appropriate for the long-term life of the built environment.
  • Participate in client meetings and interface with owners, contractors, and consultants throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Lead or support FF&E design efforts, including specification, coordination, budgeting, and communication with vendors.
  • Utilize Revit, Enscape, Rhino, Adobe Creative Suite, and Miro to support design development, visualization, and presentation.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of contracts, budgets, and construction processes while working effectively with owners and contractors.
  • Maintain awareness of building codes, building systems, and sustainable design standards, including LEED, WELL, and Fitwel.
  • Support and mentor junior team members as appropriate, sharing knowledge and contributing to a culture of design excellence.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in interior design, architecture, or a related field.
  • NCIDQ certification preferred.
  • LEED accreditation is preferred, with a strong understanding of sustainable design principles and familiarity with the WELL Building Standard.
  • Demonstrated conceptual design ability, with a portfolio reflecting original ideas, strong design narratives, and thoughtful materiality.
  • Proficiency in finish material selection, specification, and documentation and detailing of interior architectural elements.
  • Experience with FF&E package development, delivery, and budgeting.
  • Knowledge of building codes and building systems.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard design software; Rhino experience a plus.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, organizational, and analytical skills.

Office & Hybrid Hours
LMN employees collaborate in-office on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Fridays are hybrid workdays that allow employees to work in the office, from home, or any location they choose. Core work hours are from 9:30 am - 4:00 pm, and provide flexibility for employees to structure their schedules around personal commitments and commuting.

Compensation
This is a salaried position with a pay range of $90,000 to $105,000. Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications.

Eligible salaried employees receive an annual performance bonus depending on LMN profitability and individual performance. LMN offers medical, dental, and vision insurance to employees and their families, along with an Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
