Interim HS Literature Teacher 80-90%
We are seeking an one-year interim HS Literature teacher who we anticipate will have an 80%-90% teaching load.
Faculty must be academically prepared and highly effective at teaching and designing curriculum for a rotating block course schedule of three 80-minute periods per 6-day cycle, along with a weekly 80-minute tutorial/studio period for additional individual or small group instruction. Faculty must be adept at using technology for teaching and learning
Working closely with the Grade Dean, School Counselor, college counselor, Learning Specialist, school chaplain, Dean of Faculty, department chair and High School Division Head, teachers are part of a collaborative, team-based structure with a high level of communication and collegiality. Active participation in a faculty culture of continuous learning, professional development, and intellectual growth is expected
In addition to teaching four literature sections, including one section of World Literature, two sections of Literature of the Americas, a fall-semester elective on "Ghost Stories of the Global South" and a spring-semester elective on "Human Rights in World Literature and Film," we seek a teacher who could participate in our Lab Studies program, by teaching a section of Introduction to World Religions.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required, master's degree or beyond is preferred.
Compensation
This is a full-time faculty position with an expected base salary of $68,000-$155,040 commensurate with education and experience on the faculty salary scale.
