Status: Temporary Full Time ( 12 months)

Base Rate: $95,200- $136,900 (salary band placement commensurate with experience)

Job Description

The Carlo Fidani Regional Cancer Centre and the Betty and Buster Lockwood Cancer Detection and Treatment Centre at Trillium Health Partners provide outpatient consultation, systemic therapy, radiation therapy and supportive care for people living with cancer. We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual with strong leadership skills, who is committed to evidence-based practice and patient centered care for this supervisor role.

With dual reporting to the Manager of Systemic Therapy & Outpatient Clinics and Radiation Oncology, the Supervisor will support the Patient Care Managers in providing leadership for the day to day operations of the oncology clinics including the Diagnostic Assessment Program (DAP), Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology (including Resource and Brachytherapy) and Neuro-Oncology, to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of care.

Supported by the manager, the Supervisor will be responsible for:
  • Providing leadership and direction for operations and human resources
  • Day to day planning and coordination of resources to support departmental operations
  • Hiring, coaching, mentoring, evaluating and managing the performance and development of front line staff including progressive discipline
  • Collaborative planning, implementing and evaluating of patient safety, quality improvement and risk management activities with patients and other health care professionals to facilitate change
  • Project-related work related to create efficiencies and evolution of service delivery models and include collaboration with multiple stakeholders (Diagnostic Imaging; Laboratory Medicine, Anesthesia, Surgery, Neurology, etc).
  • Primarily supporting clinic activity at the Credit Valley Hospital site, travel between THP hospital sites will be required


Qualifications
  • Baccalaureate degree required BScN
  • Registered Nurse with current Certificate of Competence from the appropriate College
  • CON (C) certification preferred
  • 2 years supervisory or leadership experience recommended
  • 3-5 years oncology experience is required
  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication and problem solving skills
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to the challenge of a busy environment with competing priorities
  • Demonstrated commitment to learning and continuous quality improvement
  • Ability to follow through on key initiatives and meet targeted deadlines and deliverables
  • Satisfactory performance and attendance required
  • Proficiency in the use of hospital computerized/electronic system EPIC required
  • Demonstrated ability to be detail and quality oriented as well as a high degree of initiative and self-direction
  • Ability to provide leadership to projects, accomplish goals, evaluate outcomes, and adjust as necessary
  • Ability to influence change, taking into account climate and culture
  • Proven ability to provide leadership and set strategic direction, articulate and work towards a vision and oversee the implementation of plans and strategies to deliver efficient, effective and highly quality services
