Applications are invited for the position of Intercollegiate Coordinator in the Athletics and Student Engagement Division, located at the Welland Campus. The starting hourly rate is $38.09/hr (Pay Band H - $38.09/hr to $44.04/hr) for a 35-hour work week. Additional hours may be required as necessary.
The Intercollegiate Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and supporting Niagara College's intercollegiate athletics programming under the direction of the Senior Director, Athletics and Student Engagement. The successful candidate will oversee the planning, scheduling, delivery, and safe operation of varsity athletics programs across multiple sports and teams.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: - Coordinate the delivery of intercollegiate athletics programming for up to three varsity teams, supporting approximately 80 student athletes
- Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive annual plans for assigned varsity teams, including recruitment, fundraising initiatives, season planning, student-athlete development, and professional development opportunities
- Collaborate closely with Intercollegiate Head Coaches to develop exhibition and training schedules that align with Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) principles, current research, and industry best practices
- Support and enhance student-athlete recruitment efforts, helping to position Niagara College as a destination for both academic achievement and athletic success
- Lead intercollegiate alumni engagement initiatives in partnership with the Niagara College Alumni team, including database development and maintenance, ReuKnighted activities, alumni outreach, and identification of potential fundraising opportunities
Qualifications: - Three (3) year diploma in any field of study
- Minimum three (3) years of experience coordinating recreational or athletic programs and activities within an educational institution, community organization, or sport environment
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role, including extended periods of standing and walking
- Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation, with the ability to travel as required
- Must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
- Demonstrated proficiency with computer applications and data management systems, complemented by strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills
This position is open to internal employees. Internal employees are those classified as full-time permanent within the Full-Time Support Staff bargaining unit, regular part-time (RPT) employees who have completed probation, and Appendix D employees with six consecutive months of Appendix D service with the College at the time of posting.
