  • Debug software/hardware issues with various diagnostic tools.
  • Collaborate directly with customers and support teams on assigned duties.
  • May work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift up to 50 pounds.

Full Job Description
Leidos’ Defense Systems, Systems Integration and Test Team is seeking a Junior Interceptor Test Engineer. We are a diverse team that works to implement unique solutions for complex problems in the defense sector, including but not limited to kinetic and directed energy defensive and offensive platforms as well as RADAR and other surveillance and sensor technologies.  Our team works across multiple business sectors, with industry partners, and directly with the customer.  We strive to have a variety of skillsets personally and across the team to meet the needs of our customers. Leidos Defense Systems Sector provides a diverse portfolio of systems, solutions, and services covering land, sea, air, space, and cyberspace for customers worldwide. Solutions for Defense include enterprise and mission IT, large-scale intelligence systems, command and control, geospatial and data analytics, cybersecurity, logistics, training, and intelligence analysis and operations support. Our team is solving the world’s toughest security challenges for customers with “can’t fail” missions. Primary Responsibilities - Executing test plans for development, qualification, and acceptance phases of hardware projects. - Creating, modifying, and using Hardware-In-the-Loop (HWIL) test platforms to satisfy testing requirements. - Completing requirements verification and validation documentation and reports. - Performing test data analysis via data log parser, Wireshark, and/or software debug tools. - Debugging software and/or hardware with various tools. - Working directly with the customer and other support personnel on of the afore mentioned responsibilities. - The position may require working outside in all weather conditions and lifting up to 50 pounds. - The position may require minimal travel for test events (approximately 4 weeks a year). Basic Qualifications - Requires BS degree and 2 – 4 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with less than 2 years of prior relevant experience; additional education, experience or training will be considered in lieu of degree. - Candidates must have knowledge of and experience with defense or commercial test engineering practices and processes. - Candidates must have experience developing and executing hardware or software test plans and procedures. - Candidates must have direct, hands-on experience with hardware, software, or system integration, troubleshooting and testing. - Active DoD Secret clearance. (U.S. Citizenship is required) Preferred Qualifications - Experience with ESS, HALT, HASS, Mil Std 461, Mil Std 464, Mil Std 810, and/or CE compliance testing - Working knowledge and operation of electronic test equipment (e.g. oscilloscope, voltmeter, signal analyzer/generator) - Working knowledge of software languages Python, C, C++, C# and or firmware languages for Xilinx or Altera devices - Experience with Linux, Matlab, Labview, and WireShark - Experience preparing and presenting briefings and/or demonstrations to customers and management - Planning and executing demonstration tests and US Gov't test ranges/facilities Pay Range: Pay Range $69,550.00 - $125,725.00 The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
