Title:
Intelligent Systems Research and Development Support Program Manager

The Intelligent Systems Research and Development Support (ISRDS) contract supports NASA Ames Research Center in researching, developing and infusing advanced technology into NASA missions. Our scientists, engineers and technologists support research and development of critical enabling technologies for all of the NASA Mission Directorates.

KBR is seeking an experienced senior manager to lead the current contract and to position KBR for the upcoming recompete. The current management team has led contract support for this customer for over 25 years through numerous contract transitions.

The position involves organizing, planning, budgeting, directing and coordinating all technical activities to achieve cost, schedule, and technical performance objectives and lead a staff of over 100 engineers and computer scientists. The candidate will be responsible for employee welfare and morale and for maintaining an effective safety culture. The candidate must possess strong interpersonal skills and excellent oral and written communication skills. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining excellent relations with corporate functional organizations and for meeting contract financial goals.

Required Qualifications:
  • An advanced degree in engineering or computer science is desired along with at least 15 years of increasingly responsible leadership positions and demonstrated customer satisfaction.
  • Must possess a strong leadership background in an R&D environment with demonstrated customer satisfaction.
  • Broad technical background in areas such as autonomous systems, robotics and space mission support is required.
  • Experience leveraging Silicon Valley relationships and strong connections with leading experts and emerging technologies.
  • Partner with the Center in bringing in new technology and new work opportunities.


Basic Compensation:

$258,200 - $387,300

This pay range applies to the Mountain View, CA area only.

The offered rate will be based on contract affordability and the selected candidate's working location, knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience, and in consideration of internal parity.

Additional Compensation:

KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
