Job DescriptionSuccessful candidates will employ safe searching principles in order to identify and collect geospatial open source data. Collectors are responsible for quantifying the veracity of open sources data and providing context and insight about cultural topics and entities on which they collect.
Duties:• Produce and disseminate NGA Open Source reports and alerts in accordance with established SOPs.
• Populate activities in assigned performance management system (Currently JIRA).
• Support timely responses to intelligence priorities, requests for information (RFis) and other customer and mission needs. Tasks include:
Regional/Target monitoring, language support, Geolocating, Data discovery and transfer, Address coding
• Contribute to the preparation of data release, analytical, observational, and technical reports and publications.
• Assess open source media veracity utilizing splice detectors, hex editors, GAN detectors, etc.
• Maintain proper file management in accordance with division standards.
• Request and maintain access to security domain systems (SBU/NIPR, SecNet, NGANet).
• Request, maintain access to, and utilize IC Open Source databases/portals (Tier 0).
Required Skills and EducationBAE Systems OSINT Analysts are key participants in the analytic process, collectors provide detailed, hard to find information, to fill in gaps for key intelligence questions. Possessing the required skills is important to collecting the truly hard to find data.
Required• 3-5 years of experience conducting Open Source Analysis.
• Experience with web browsing tools and advance searching techniques.
• Course work or I year of experience building/using Power Point slides, Excel
spreadsheets, Email, and One Note Notebooks.
• Basic knowledge of how to conduct safe searches (OPSEC).
• 3+ years of demonstrated work experience directly engaging with IC
partners/customers.
- Knowledge of geospatial technologies (ArcGIS, GoogleEarth)
- Knowledge of Common Open Source databases and Services.
