Role overviewThe Integration Project Manager - Functional Teams will lead the planning and delivery of functional integration and TSA exit activity across Finance, HR, Marketing & Communications, Legal, Risk & Compliance, Capital Advisory and Procurement, arising from the integration of BMS Re's US reinsurance business into Willis Re, a UK-based global reinsurance business. Based in New York, the role will work closely with functional leads and subject-matter experts across the US and UK, as well as Project Managers and Programme Managers responsible for other areas, coordinating teams within BMS Re, BMS Group and Willis Re to deliver a single, coherent integration plan through to completion.
Key responsibilities- Lead integration planning across Finance, HR, Marketing & Communications, Legal, Risk & Compliance, Capital Advisory and Procurement.
- Partner with functional leads and subject-matter experts across the US and UK, including teams within BMS Re, BMS Group and Willis Re, to develop and deliver detailed functional integration plans.
- Work closely with Project Managers and Programme Managers responsible for other areas to align plans, milestones, dependencies and delivery priorities.
- Work closely with the Integration Lead and PMO to track workstream finances, alongside the raising and management of requisitions within procurement, identifying risk early.
- Develop and drive an exit plan for every TSA service line in these areas, covering the replacement solution, accountable owner, dependencies, resources, testing, cutover activity, readiness criteria and exit date.
- Consolidate individual functional plans into one integrated plan for the two businesses, identifying and resolving cross-functional and cross-border dependencies, gaps and sequencing issues.
- Prepare and maintain clear, concise reporting on overall status, progress against milestones, readiness, risks, issues, dependencies, decisions and forecast TSA exit dates by functional area and individual TSA service line, providing regular updates to the TSA Manager and wider programme governance.
- Establish clear governance, actions, owners and deadlines, and hold stakeholders accountable for delivery.
- Escalate gaps, risks or decisions that could lead to TSA extensions, additional cost or business disruption.
- Produce status reports and governance materials that clearly highlight delivery progress, key risks and issues, required decisions, accountable owners and next steps in line with reporting cycles.
Required experience and skills- Proven project management experience delivering complex integration, transformation or separation programmes across multiple corporate functions.
- Experience coordinating geographically dispersed stakeholders and functional teams across the US and UK.
- Experience of post-merger integration programmes.
- Experience of operating within regulated Financial Services (Insurance, reinsurance) environments
- Strong understanding of TSA governance, service inventories, exit planning, dependencies, testing, cutover and operational readiness.
- Excellent planning, organisation and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and competing priorities.
- Confident stakeholder management and communication skills, including concise status reporting and effective escalation to senior leaders.
- Strong attention to detail and a delivery-focused approach, with the ability to establish clear ownership and drive actions to completion. goes here
