Full Job Description
Location: Ottawa 1 Chrysalis, Canada

This is a Hybrid role in Ottawa, ON. Note that role can be located in Halifax, NS or Victoria, BC.

Position Summary

The Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Officer will conduct, contribute and assist in the preparation and delivery of various Integrated Logistics Support Analyses, plans and reports with the objective of improving the support system of an equipment and / or a system and optimizing the maintainability, availability and the life cycle cost. The ILS Officer will support the full life cycle of the asset and will support disposal and obsolescence studies as well.

Special Position Requirements

  • Schedule: 40 hours per week

  • Physical Environment: Hybrid position – which is a mix of working from home and onsite (in office, at customer site or on board ships alongside in harbour)

  • Travel: Occasional domestic travel maybe required in support of the ships

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Lead Vessel Disposal ILS and activities, including the development and execution of disposal strategies, planning, and coordination to ensure safe, compliant, and cost-effective end-of-life management of vessels and equipment.

  • Review vendor documentation and identify maintenance support and disposal requirements.

  • Collect, organize and expedite the necessary technical data to conduct Product and Logistics Support Analysis (LSA) activities such as Functional Analysis; Failures Modes, Effects and Criticality Analysis; Reliability Centered Maintenance Analysis; Level of Repair Analysis; Maintenance Task Analysis and Sparing Analysis.

  • Determine required spares and spares quantities to support equipment by reviewing technical publications and usage data as well as interacting with Thales engineering, procurement and service delivery personnel, Technical Authorities or ship staff.

  • Review Maintenance Plans, Preventive or Corrective Maintenance Schedules, and Instructions and Performance Test and operational data to propose amendments to eliminate or control equipment failures or to improve maintainability, increase ship availability or reduce life cycle costs.

  • Develop Maintenance Plans, Preventive or Corrective Maintenance Schedules, and Instructions and Performance Tests as well as Spare Parts List and accompanying Provisioning Technical Data for any new equipment or modification to existing ship systems.

  • Identify the maintenance or spares required to support Short Work Periods or Docking work Periods.

  • Manage the data within Logistics Support Analysis Record (LSAR).

  • Conduct Lifecycle Cost Analysis and report Thru Life Costs.

  • Assist in the preparation and execution of various ILS plans or B2B processes.

  • Support Engineering personnel with the development of Engineering Change proposals.

  • Review elements of the technical data package to ensure that the technical data reflects the latest system/equipment configuration of the ships, is complete, accurate and consistent across the support solution.

  • Prepare Statements of Work to procure supportability services and perform the role of Technical Authority in the delivery of the services.

Basic Qualifications

  • An Engineering degree or Technologist diploma in mechanical, electrical, electronic, industrial, reliability or naval engineering.

  • Five years or more experience conducting Logistics Support Analysis in maintenance and supply support of complex systems or equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with Logistics Support Analysis application software such as OmegaPS, Reliasoft RAM, Eagle ELT, SLIC2B, PTC Windchill Risk and Reliability, and/or Analyzer.

  • Background in naval systems and equipment is desirable.

  • Experience supporting an operational military asset.

  • Experience developing Integrated Logistics Support Plans, Processes or Procedures.

  • Experience identifying and addressing Logistics Support Analysis deficiencies in Technical Publications.

  • Above average Microsoft Windows application experience, communications and interpersonal skills are required for this position.

  • Language: English (Essential), French (Desirable)

Physical Demands

  • Predominantly office work but may be required to work in dockyards and onboard Naval ships

The reference Total Target Compensation (TTC) market range for this position, inclusive of annual base salary and the variable compensation target, is between Total Target Cash (TTC) 88,000 6 110,000 CAD Annual.
