Position Description & QualificationsAs a integrated logistics engineer, you will be a member of a team to support the Undersea Warfare (USW) Electromagnetic Systems Department (Code 34) of the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division, Newport (NUWCDIVNPT) in support of Communication Systems and Electromagnetic Maneuver Warfare (EMW) programs and in particular, the Global Broadcast Service (GBS) .
In this role, you will:- Attend GBS Meetings with PMW 170 and CSRR; CCBs, PTRBs, PMW 170 T&E (GBS IPT Sync), GBS IPT, EQT and Quarterly Working Group meetings to resolve issues affecting system design, logistics, training and system documentation issues
- Prepare agendas and presentations and provide meeting minutes/action items, as required
- Assist with identifying/tracking milestones required to meet new and future variants
- Propose and update logistics product data to include: Configuration Overhaul Planning (COP) Work Files (online), Install work files (within 15 days of install completion), Maintenance work files, Configuration Management/Inventory Management Tool services, Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) certifications, Logistics outfitting package (e.g., ILS notebooks)
- Provide Logistics Engineering expertise in the area of Acquisition Logistics, supportability analysis, and Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) products necessary for the program office to meet acquisition/fielding milestones, testing events, and fielding requirements associated with GBS Engineering Changes
- Propose and update Users Logistics Support Summary, provisioning and readiness-based sparing, and review and validate technical documentation produced by the manufacturer
- Propose revisions, update, review, verify, validate, and provide comments or recommendations to Field Change Bulletins (FCBs)/Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), maintenance plans, maintenance procedures, environmental and reliability analyses, HBSS compliance, specifications, IMS schedules, program briefs for technical accuracy and provide comments or recommendations.
- Produce preliminary and final versions of the Submarine ILS and Engineering Change Order (ECO) bulletins and review SOVT documents for the engineering changes and enhancements per the implementation and fielding plans which include: ECO/ILS (Bulletin, CERT, CDMDOA, ECR and HBSS process support) for the applicable classes of submarines
- Produce revisions to GBS System Operations and Maintenance Technical Manuals and GBS System User's Handbooks to incorporate engineering modification upgrades and comments by fleet operational users
- Provide logistics engineering support for the IPV for NMT and SubHDR
- Provide GBS installation consultation to the team
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- An active SECRET clearance
- HS Diploma/GED
- 12 years of experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.)
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willing to travel up to 10%
Additional desired experience and skills:
- 5 years of experience working with GBS preferred. Experience working with GBS on submarines is desired to be able to immediately assist the GBS program and be able to provide recommendations and consultation to the team as needed
