Job Summary The Intake & Portfolio Health Solution Architect / Technical Lead will lead the vision, architecture, technical discovery, and implementation of a scalable SharePoint-based solution supporting demand intake, portfolio governance, program health, and leadership reporting. The role will evaluate and extend existing intake and portfolio health capabilities, establish the future-state architecture and data model, define integration patterns with Azure DevOps, and guide the technical team through development, testing, deployment, documentation, and handoff. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership while remaining hands-on throughout the delivery lifecycle and will challenge assumptions, recommend effective approaches, and apply enterprise best practices. Key Responsibilities • Lead technical discovery and define the overall solution vision, architecture, and implementation approach. • Review existing SharePoint sites, web parts, lists, pages, automation, Azure DevOps structures, reporting templates, data sources, permissions, connectors, licensing, and support requirements. • Translate business requirements into scalable architecture, data models, integration patterns, calculation approaches, snapshot strategies, security controls, environments, and configuration standards. • Define and implement a web-part-driven user experience using modern SharePoint pages, standard web parts, and custom SPFx components where appropriate. • Design and implement Azure DevOps integrations through APIs, including projects, Area Paths, work item types, fields, hierarchy, refresh processes, monitoring, error handling, and data ownership. • Establish traceability across intake, pre-discovery, approval, delivery, implementation, readiness, value realization, and reporting processes. • Design configurable data models supporting initiatives, value streams, teams, workstreams, milestones, dependencies, risks, decisions, readiness, value, health, trends, and data quality. • Build or oversee complex integrations, calculations, projections, health assessments, data-quality rules, refresh controls, and reporting outputs. • Design auditable historical snapshots and certification processes to ensure reporting periods remain reproducible after source data changes. • Provide day-to-day technical direction and mentorship to 1-2 development-focused resources. • Establish development, testing, source control, deployment, versioning, monitoring, diagnostics, rollback, documentation, and support standards. • Review technical deliverables for maintainability, security, accessibility, performance, and alignment with architectural standards and acceptance criteria. • Guide role-based access, least-privilege controls, configuration management, audit history, service-account documentation, and development, test, and production environments. • Identify and resolve licensing, access, security, integration, data, and platform constraints while providing clear technical recommendations. • Remain actively involved throughout development, testing, iteration, and solution refinement rather than designing and handing off the solution. • Lead pilot design and validation, including comparison with existing reporting and reconciliation of differences. • Oversee user acceptance, security, failed-refresh, new-feature, historical data, governance, reporting, accessibility, and deployment testing. • Demonstrate repeatable onboarding of additional value streams without duplicating the implementation. • Create and maintain architecture and design documentation, user guides, maintenance documentation, performance specifications, data dictionaries, integration specifications, and rule catalogs. • Support demonstrations, training, knowledge transfer, and operational handoff to internal administration and support teams. • Ensure custom code is source controlled, documented, deployable, maintainable, and supportable without dependency on a single consultant. Required Qualifications • Extensive experience architecting and developing SharePoint Online solutions using standard and custom web-part interfaces in enterprise environments. • Proven experience leading technical discovery and translating complex workflow, portfolio, governance, reporting, and data requirements into scalable technical architectures. • Strong hands-on experience with SharePoint web parts, front-end SharePoint development, modern SharePoint pages, SharePoint lists, permissions, and information architecture. • Experience with SPFx or comparable web-part development frameworks. • Strong experience designing and implementing Azure DevOps integrations through APIs. • Experience with Microsoft Teams integrations. • Hands-on development experience with the ability and willingness to contribute directly to the solution build. • Strong understanding of APIs, data models, configurable rules, historical snapshots, audit trails, security, environments, source control, deployment, rollback, monitoring, and support standards. • Experience providing technical leadership and mentoring development resources. • Ability to challenge assumptions, recommend improved approaches, and apply enterprise architecture and development best practices. • Proven ability to work independently, make sound technical decisions, and maintain ownership throughout the delivery lifecycle. • Strong communication and documentation skills with experience producing architecture, design, maintenance, user, and performance documentation. Preferred Qualifications • Experience with TypeScript, JavaScript, Microsoft Graph, REST APIs, Git, and deployment pipelines. • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform, particularly Power Automate/Flows. • Experience designing Power BI, structured export, or automated reporting solutions using SharePoint and Azure DevOps data. • Experience with product portfolio management, demand intake, governance, Agile delivery, roadmap projection, capacity planning, or program-health reporting. • Experience implementing configurable health, trend, data-quality, readiness, value, scope, velocity, capacity, and projection calculations. • Experience delivering reusable solutions across multiple business units or value streams. • Experience working in financial services or other regulated enterprise environments.
